When you rewatch Thor: Love and Thunder, it's obvious that Gorr was right about many of the gods being opulent a-holes that don't care abut ordinary people. But what about the necrosword? Why did it want to kill the gods? Was it connected to Venom, like in the comics? Or was it created by Galactus to be the weapon of his heralds?

When. you start to add up the missing pieces of the cosmic/multiverse saga...it all starts to make sense.

Asgard was just kind of a sliver of a planet, not a whole planet. Is it possible that a celestial was born from Asgard, but they had the power to at least keep part of their home intact? A civilization powerful enough to survive the birth of a celestial would be pretty god-tier.
  • I just hope at some point Thor can meet/see Loki from the series. I think it would be a great thing for Thor to see this version of Loki. Thor mentions often how much he believed in Loki and hoped he'd change. So for Thor to see Loki as a guardian of his own multiverse of sorts and what he did and how he had changed would be pretty cool to see.
  • The gods of the MCU being as horrible and unforgiving as they are pretty much asked for someone like Gorr to start hunting them down. They failed their people besides maybe the asgardians.

I kinda hate that the necrosword corrupted gorr. In Jasson Aaron's Thor run they make the point that gorr isn't insane and actually in control of his actions, making him more terrifying, and it makes the reader (and Thor) question whether he us right. In Love & Thunder the audience had to SEE the gods beings dicks and then have gorr comment on it later so we could maybe agree with him, because otherwise we just see him as insane. Not super related to this vid but thought I'd bring it it up.

Your true knowledge of comic books and their lore is appreciated. Its nice to listen to a video about this material from someone who really knows it. You make the other youtubers from comics look like the amateurs. Keep up the good work!

I think you, most other YouTube Theorists, and epically us Fans are putting WAY more thought into this than any of the writers at Disney are currently 😏

14:15 One can even reference Ultron for the "they started as Protectors" part. His primary purpose was to protect earth, but he decided that to protect earth, he has to actively go out and decimate humanity. Similarly, a young Odin might have thought in order to protect Asgard and the rest of the galaxy, he had to conquer it first.

Once you've read the comic, the movie becomes beyond disappointing. The sword was supposed to introduce KNULL and how it connects to Venom. 😊
  • My biggest complaint of all this is they introduced the NecroSword and didn’t make it about Knull or have anything to do with him.

Gorr wa right, Thanos was right every Marvel Villain is right
  • As a long time comic fan, I like this as a movie explanation for everything. It's not what I read, nor how the stories came out previously, but this is kind of neat tying all of the strings together.
  • This is probably one of the best videos i have ever watched. The theories and storyline accuracies kept me glued

This was awesome. Love how you broke this down & I agree with you. Amazing!

WOW! Just, Wow! This was the deepest deep dive you've had that I totally wasn't expecting! Great points, intriguing theories, and I'm still taking it all in. I'll probably have to watch this a few more times, and then again to really understand everything presented. I love that your team can go back to what was originally in the comic books of yore, and connect it all to the digital moving picture stories of today. Great video as always- and thank you for this wealth of Marvel-ous information!
  • I really like this way of tying Love and Thunder and Gorr in with so many other elements of the MCU.
