something that helped me hearing 2 years ago was, no matter what perspective you are drawing it's always in 3 points (because it's 3 dimensional) just if you do 1 point, 2 points are at infinite and 2 point 1 point is at infinite this to me helped me along with realizing you don't have to have everything converge to the same vanishing point objects in real life will often have their own it's just in relation to the horizon line and horizon lines can be moved about where ever depending on the image that is being drawn and what you are trying to convey in relation to the camera and POV
