I am 72. I went to see a consultant for arthritis & he was shocked when he asked my age - he said he thought I was about 50. My secret is genetic. My dad never got wrinkles or any sign of aging. He died age 70. I look after my skin but never used soap on my face after I was 30 as my skin was so dry, it would flake!

I’ve used Ret A since my 30’s and am now 70. I truly believe in it. I only use it at night. Never suntan or go out w/o sunblock. My routine is simple.

I have been using retin-A since the 1980s. I am 60 years old now and have the skin of someone in their 30s. Along with retin-A, I always wore hats and used sunscreen.

I live in an extremely dry environment. When I moved here, I got nosebleeds because of the lack of humidity and you can feel the skin's moisture get sucked right out of you. When it gets cold and the humidity drops even further, my skin is on fire in the shower. Combination of hard water off the mountains and general lack of humidity. Itchy as hell till I get used to the change in temperature. So I would say the part about not needing moisturizer is heavily dependent on where you live. In the summer, I need very little but in the winter I need it.
  • I am a male in my mid 30s. I have been religiously using Tretinoin 0.05% cream for the past 1 year or so, and it has made a substantial difference on my skin appearance. Along with this product, I also use cleanser, Vitamin C moisturizer, and sunscreen. People say that I look much younger for my age.

You will absolutely need a moisturiser when you start perimenopause and beyond. The dryness and flaking was so awful at one stage I felt like rubbing lard on my face.
  • Tretinoin really saves my my skin. Combined with HA toner and ceramide moisturizer , they all makes my skin super smooth and blemish & acne free.

Not everyone's skin is same. Depending on your age, gender, if you are a woman, where are you at your cycle- Perimenopause, menopause, where you live, what you eat, how much sleep you get, how much water you drink, your habits and even your job affect skin health. Some need moisturizer and some need oils. And tretinoin works on some and doesn't work for others. Empower yourself with knowledge and choose what's best for you.

I don't know why but I have never suffered from acne even in my teens, until recently I never used creams or soap on my face my morning routine was washing face in cold running water dabbing dry then using witch hazel as a toner after, I have never worn make-up either. But a few years ago I noticed my skin was getting very dry & researched into natural products for dry skin, after a few years of experimenting with various oils etc on their own or mixed I finally found what works best for my skin, now I mix equal amounts of pure aloe gel & organic castor oil together, this mix I also use on hands & all over body after a shower or bath too, but everyone's skin is different so I'm not saying this mix will work on all skin

I have atopic dermatitis and moisturizing is the most important thing for me as at the genetic level my skin naturally lacks some components to have a strong skin barrier , so it is important to some people

I have already said this to many of my skincare interested friends. Three I know started tretinoin for a while after retinol and they won’t go back. Respect your vids❤
  • @TradMommy
I’ve used trentinoin for over 15 yrs. I have lupus & diabetes w very oily skin. This is the ONLY product that helps my many skin problems. I have very few wrinkles on forehead, mouth & eyes. I’m almost 55. I’m grateful for this product. Stay out of sun, drink lots of water, eat healthy & try to stay as happy & stress free as I can.
  • I had severe acne for almost 2 decades, was on differin gel also. It helped a bit, but not as much as I needed it to. The only thing that completely transformed my skin was Roaccutane tablets prescribed by my dermatologist and very gentle facewash & moisturiser with no actives during treatment. I wish i visited the dermatologist early on in my teens, but I couldn't afford it. It would've saved me from the horrendous pitted acne scars. I'm in my mid 40s now. I've been acne free for probably 15 years. Start early, people, if u are able to. Dont try to fix it on your own unless its really mild.

When you start to use retinol please use the sandwich system and don't forget your sunscreen
