I'm just glad noone started clapping when they stopped singing thinking it was the end of the song

The thumbnail didn't load and I clicked expecting a video of a really emotional haircut.
  • Something really subtle that I didn’t notice right away was that his buddy gave him the starting pitch of his next line. You can hear him hum the pitch very quietly. Clutch
  • The awesome thing about this is his parents are both still alive. He said he just really felt moved by that particular performance of the song.

I’m so amazed at how well he was able to sing while he was so overcome with emotion. Whenever I get emotional I can’t even talk, it’s like my throat is closing up, much less sing and sustain notes like that.

Impressive that nobody clapped during the pause, but its even more impressive how his fellow performers realized what was happening and were there for their friend.

Aside from the tear-jerking tenor 2 performance, that ending C2 in the bass was just earth-shaking.
  • I was there for this performance. This was the most moving performance I’ve ever seen and experienced

Y’know ya did good when the guy at the back of the venue shouts, “YES!”

Dad passed away April 22nd 2022. Grew up in Barbershop. Haven’t done since 18 (from UK). This hit different. Thank you.

Best post on this channel yet. Not because I like barbershop, but because of how touching and real it is.

Now that I know that his parents are okay, I have to say one of the most emotional pieces is...funnily enough...one done by the Newfangled Four. A Cottage For Sale is one of the most emotional barbershop pieces I've ever heard, for anyone who hasn't seen it, go listen to it. It's phenomenal.

as soon as he started crying i did too. as a singer too, i could never dream of hitting those notes so clearly without my voice warbling
  • My dad took his life a week after I moved out. I know I'll never see him again. This hurts more than you can imagine. What is heaven, without the ones you love?
  • The C2 at the end is almost the “Father” responding to the son who’s been singing about him throughout the piece. Beautiful 😭

Props to him keeping his singing consistent even while crying. It’s so hard to keep singing when your emotions overflow.

They performed this song at a chapter show right after winning, and it also happened to be just a couple of weeks after my paternal grandfather had passed unexpectedly. It was one of the only times I've ever seen my father cry
