Alanis Morissette joins Pink for 'You Oughta Know' at SoFi Stadium (explicit)

Too many people underestimate the impact of this song in the 90's. In mainstream music, there was nothing like it. Virtually all of the mainstream "break-up songs" recorded by women were sad, lonely, crying-in-my-coffee types of songs. There was nothing even close to the realm of the "fuck you, you fucking fuck!!!" song. Then "You Oughta Know" hit the radio and all of a sudden it was ok for a young woman to be pissed instead of sad. I can clearly remember a group of my female friends singing this at the tops of their lungs at a party, each one of them singing it to a different guy in their heads. There was music before Jagged Little Pill and music after it, and no one can convince me otherwise.

Lucky to have been a teenager from 93 to 99, the 90’s were awesome.

So many memories when Alanis first released her music it was my anthem back in the day. The impact those songs had on us kids back then I’ll never forget great times!!
