The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France (SPM)”. The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.

  • I'm a Protestant who is seriously considering entering full communion with the Catholic Church. This was a wonderful homily.

'You're not going to get into the gates of heaven by flashing a Catholic ID Card'. This sums it up. We need more homilies like this that speak the truth

God bless this priest. After several years of prayers and study I converted to the Catholic faith at 58 years of age. I am 63 now and there aren’t enough words to describe everything that being Catholic means to me. The sacraments, the rosary and all of the churches prayers, the chaplets, the Saints and their writings, litanies and novenas. We must pray for the holy souls in purgatory, the church militant, and the church eternal. I pray to Saint Joseph who is the patron Saint of the universal church. This may not make sense but I pray that all religious and laity see that the church needs the Church.🙏🏼

This is one of the best sermons I have ever heard. I am a 73 year old Catholic and this sermon blew me away. God bless you, Father.

When I told my daughter I was converting from Methodist to Catholic (I was 56), she said "are you sure mom, its really hard"(her dad is Catholic and took her to Mass every week). I told her that God called me so I must convert - BEST DECISION I EVER MADE - what I used to call "silly rules" of Catholicism, now are life saving Blessings. I don't think I'd have made it through some tough times had I not had the Sacraments I have now. Confession and daily Eucharist are life changing.
  • Requesting complete healing for my parents and for myself. And pray that weeds within us will be burnt and hopefully there the wheat in us will multiply again and again.
  • A great sermon. There were moments when this priest's talk reminded me of Ven. Fulton Sheen's homilies. We're going to be judged by what we did, not by what we say we did. God bless him.

33 + years, a Catholic convert from being a Protestant! Jesus, My first Love, found me among weeds and planted me in a most beautiful garden!! Glory to His holy Name! I would pray that all sincerely, professed Christians would come to know the truth the Catholic Church teaches and snatch them away from the heresies out there!! Who wants to be a weed?!! Thank you for confirming our faith!!
  • @foodfordudes
Probably one of the best sermons I’ve ever heard
  • @Maximer77
I literally read this verse in the Bible last night and it gave me a lot to think about as I'm coming back to the church after being away for many years. I felt disgusted and betrayed by the sex abuse scandal. This is perfect timing and exactly what I needed to hear.
  • @bblochet
What a priest ! What a homily ! For a sinner, it is both frightening and full of hope. A demonstration of true faith. So good to hear. Thank you from France.
  • The Fathers of Mercy never disappoint! Their homilies always speak the TRUTH in a gentle yet sobering manner! God Bless you fathers and thank you. ❤
  • Thank God for real Catholic Priests, who preach the truth like Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen l!
  • Fr. Joseph is amazing. He’s just been a priest a little over a year! Even when he was a Brother, his reverence was so apparent. I just love him!
  • This was an amazing sermon, the once we used to hear before the 60’s. This is the kind of teaching we need to revive our catholic life.
  • @aracelia.4532
This was wonderfully said! I was for a better half of my adult life a nominal Catholic. I went to mass but "my" choices were not always aligned with the catechism. To top it off, I was a Catechism teacher too (do as I say, not as I do)!!! In the last year 1/2 or 2, not sure, I've been becoming a practicing Catholic. I am loving it! I'm still human and making some mistakes but not a total heathen! May our Lord bring all the prodigal sons & daughters home. 🙏 ❤
  • @1013AM
The once and only true sermon 🙌 🙏. Might our Lord bless him and protect him. 🙏❤
  • Wonderfully direct. More priests should preach with the candour and courage of this priest. Thank you Father. I am certainly trying to be a better Catholic all the time particularly through more prayer, Eucharist, Confession and reading of the Bible.
  • @eoinMB3949
Its a sad reflection of the world we live in and a reflection of the church, when a man who so obviously speaks the truth, is a rare thing. God bless you father, keep speaking the truth no matter what it brings.
  • I became a convert to the Catholic faith in the early 2000's. My story is a beautiful one! I was raised as a protestant & through a series of events fell completely in love with this faith at an Easter Vigil! What better place ! Thank you Father for this homily. There are many people around me raised Catholic. They no longer attend Mass. I pray for them. You have reaffirmed my belief that I will live a Catholic life no matter what they are doing. God bless you & keep you.
