Phillips being a "lovely lad" is one thing but he arrived at West Ham overweight and unfit, hadnΒ΄t played for a season or two. How on earth was he going to get straight into the team? Was a big error by West Ham, should never have got him in.

If they stay healthy, players at the top end 'work' for 10/15 years and then retire, they earn more in those 15 years than most people earn in 3 lifetimes of 50 years of 8 hour, 5 days a week minimum shifts. Get the violin out for footballers.
