A downsize for 2021. The LEGO Star Wars 75300 Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Starfighter is a surprisingly good value for $50 IMO. With 4 Minifigures being General Dodonna, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, & R2-D2 you get plenty! This downsized model loses a couple play features from previous models but retains most of the size somehow.

  • Much like the downsized TIE Fighter, I find myself surprised to be enjoying the downsized X-Wing. Good value. Good build. Good Minifigures. It's not as GREAT as 2018 but it gets the job done.
  • @bananacat5820
If lego made a scaled down version for the Y-wing and tie bomber I would be so happy
  • @harrisonblock
I've always thought the X-Wings and the TIEs had become way too big lately. This is a very welcome smaller entry.

Looked at your channel for the first time in months and saw you posted 20 seconds ago, perfect timing!!

R2-d2 sticking out that much is actually more accurate, it just doesn't look as good in lego
  • @MandoStudios
This doesn’t look as bad as I expected and I like how they tried something new with the nose, back looks a bit too boxy though
  • @SiOConnor
General Dodonna! Yes! It's better than I thought it would be! I'll definitely pick it up 🙂
  • I have to say I absolutely loved building the mechanism for the wings. Seeing it come together and figuring out how it’d operate the wings was so cool. These slightly scaled down slightly cheaper sets got me back into LSW!
  • @brandothefish
I have no idea why people keep saying this X Wing is "scaled down" I looked up some stills from a New Hope and it's actually the most accurate size when compared to the character. The new tie fighter is definitely way smaller than the movie version.
  • @pbscars6320
I hope they release an $80 bundle of the TIE Fighter and X Wing similarly to how they made the A-Wing vs TIE Advanced for Rebels.
  • I love this thing that Lego is trying to do now. they know that their lego sets have been becoming more and more expensive, and they have found that the best solution to this problem is to make these lower priced sets. I myself like to call these "value sets" because their price allows lower income families to be able to afford a lego set that is comparable to that of the more expensive sets in the past. Sure they're not as rich in detail and piece count as the other ones, and some components work different ly due to the lower piece count and design, but I think that this was a reasonable balance of both what you pay for and what you get. Lego also had to take into account that, since unemployment is skyrocketing, and covid has struck down our economy, Lego has done something remarkable to acknowledge these problems, and still allow families to continue to buy their products. I applaud you Lego, keep up the good work!
  • @Ladondorf
Luke's lightsaber and hilt can be split apart and stored on the rear end of the X-wing, behind the technic beams.
  • @gavin1724
Hey haven’t been here in awhile I think it’s time for me to start getting in to legos again
  • You know I just thought of something. What if the whole point of this year is to make original trilogy sets downsized and more affordable and then later that year or the following year they’ll do the same for clone wars sets or sequel sets I know I would love a more affordable rebuplic gunship
  • @pducks3602
At the WalMarts near me you can get the x-wing set for $39.99 and the TIE fighter set for $32.99. That’s quite the bargain. Being able to get an x-wing and TIE fighter combo for around $75 is really awesome. I have both sets and think they’re both really cool. Especially the x-wing. Just something about the design I really like.
  • @FieldMarshalYT
This is definitely worth the $50 imo. The TIE is also just $40. Very good for their sizes.
