Ocarina of Time Rom Hacks Are Incredible Now

It almost feels like a Twilight Princess era game if they had to build it for the N64.

This is an insanely high quality rom hack.. kinda forgot that I was watching Oot tbh. Very impressive

The opening announcement didn't lie, it was a clue of getting out "If you are unable to use the designated emergency escape routes, we urge that you seek an alternate exit" Very clever, as getting those rockets makes you think you're supposed to go back to the main room, but instead you do in the end find an alternate route just by the exit. Also, you can slightly see the arch of the alt route in the opening cutscene to your right. VERY VERY CLEVER. I like that this romhack went above and beyond the level design and custom enemies etc, but kept the puzzles pretty simple.

These are really cool roms. I wish there was some kind of abandonware law to protect people who make free fan projects or release old games to public domain that no longer make money. Imagine how many cool stories and level designs we could experience? For now I'm very impressed by how creative the rom community is. Really scratches the old itch of fun classic Zelda dungeons I've been sorely missing since Zelda switched to open world.

This is so surreal. The sort of stuff that appeared in my dreams at the time. Finding whole new places in an old game. Like Mario riding a jet ski on a bridge inside a tower on the clouds lol. I even had a nightmare of sorts with link at a cemetery with a dragon possessing a sword and cursing him.

Excited to see how the romhack community continues down this insane path!

This should be its own whole game, the Idea is cool, the mechanics work well with the world, I think this has potential outside of a rom hack for zelda OoT

The bit with the tree feels more like a forest temple then anything in OoT did

I wish these rom hackers would get together with some good writers and make their own game. They clearly have a great deal of talent. Nintendo owns legend of zelda. That is a fact and not liking it doesnt change anything. But these creators own their talent. Why not make something that is uniquely theirs?

I really like the level design and overlook look and feel of the UI and textures. There are some really talented people out there in the world making mods.
