This is a clip i took while leaving work as i drove home, estimated 2 1/2 miles from where i started the video. this is from start to end record without any post editing.

Summary- The Original video showed way more detail then the compressed. There is a lot of natural light hitting the censor which is mainly a testament to the lens ultra wide angle, even at the f/5.6 there is light in places at first glance you might call complete darkness. The lower 3rd of the video shows the most detail as i did not have the lens set to infinity. Also what is clear to me is that anti aliasing filter at work, if you pay attention at the light post in the distance, there is a purple fringe that rolls off the bottom. This is an issue that wont be easily fixed.

What makes up the noise in the video is the compression rate for the most part. while most of the light and composition is retained, it is very clear to me there is much more pixelation and resolution dampening. but besides that almost everything is in focus which is the main reason why i chose the ultra wide 12mm. even the rain on the window is clearly visible. but doesn't distract heavily from the rest of the shot.

Audio Recording- As noted all video as well as audio is live. This was also a test of the stock stereo mics aswell. Heavy drum n bass songs mixed with exterior ambient sounds plus low bass and this camera captured everything quite well. I played music at the volume i mostly listen to which is pretty high. The camera was right next to the driverside mid driver speaker. I have a subwoofer ((in trunk)that is not heavily amplified) but still offers a lot of bass do to the stock stereo amplifier. During the last minute of the video you can here the sub rumble from the songs bass line as i park, along with the bass you can hear the engine as i rev it. There is no heavy distortion, peaking or frequency separation. these microphones are pretty top notch in my opinion and do an excellent job of recording regular ambient sounds.Music -

Nice video, good atmosphere, thanks for posting. I just picked up the NEX-7 about a month ago and love it. What's your impression of the Voigtlander 12mm, specifically for still pictures? Have you noticed any color shift/vignetting problems?

yea the mics are really clean. probably some of the best on the market compared to some of the other in camera mics from nikon or canon.

i posted shots on my flickr (user themayseffect) . yes there is color shift, i forget if i made an explanation on my photo's but it is because the rear element does not cover the entire censor so the outer edges is just picking up light bleed. and it has that purple or aqua effect do to the raw light being transmitted through the anti aliasing filter(this is epidemic with all censors)this loss of light would be vignetting if shot on black/white or plain film. But overall a very good lens
