In 1995, the company Vidtape Inc, who was infamous for their poor quality "public domain" tapes, suffered big controversy after their latest Cartoons R Fun release came out on local thrift stores.

This release, however, was not like any of their other ones. With one of the major reasons being that it was a illegal release of a copyrighted cartoon, named "The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Episode 66." The intention of the tape was to falsely promote an new episode of the series, passing it off as real. People who had saw the tape thought that it was a real release, while a few were suspicious at the fact it wasn't released by the original company.

Little did they know that the contents of this VHS would be something that they were not expecting...

‪@microgaming.‬ - VHS Conversion (THANK YOU SO MUCH MICRO)
‪@DeniseKazooie‬ - VHS cover at the intro, as well as recreating some of the music on the video
‪@LafawndaPasta‬ - Voice actor for Tails (thank you so much lafawnda)
‪@ColonyOfCars‬ - Must thank him for telling me about Cartoons R Fun, as it helped me build most of the story. He also did a lot of suggestions that ended up being used, so thank you colony. ALSO THANK YOU FOR MAKING ME INCLUDE PINK FLOYD
‪@TheTSMUFan‬ - Ripping some of the soundtrack from AOSTH

"That was really spooky!" - Tails, after witnessing Scratch and Grounder getting brutally murdered by Sonic

The part where Tails quoted SammyClassicSonicFan when yelling at Sonic really had me shivering my timbers.

Sonic legit said "Oh I wouldn't say freed, more like under new management!"

This seems like an actual real-life depiction of someone descending into madness, as they start hurting those whom they love their memories haunting and worsening their condition.
  • Sonic Sez: "And never, EVER buy unauthorized bootlegs on a thrift store, gotta juice kids!"
  • @LafawndaPasta
I'm happy to have voiced Tails for this. Thank you.

The fact that you and DeniseKazooie decided to take the extra steps and make a VHS cover of the tape for a intro segment is honestly just amazing dedication , plus actual VHS conversion from MicroGaming instead of a digital filter makes it even more authentic.

This feels like those 2010 edits on YouTube adding gore to cartoons. very well put together i like how terribly edited it looks it gives a charm
  • Sonic Sez: It wasn't me officer, I swear! They all just committed it to themselves simultaneously by pure coincidence!

I didn't realise I was watching the Adventures of Sonic.exe
  • He infact, regardless of whether or not it was the last thing he did, ever make hedgehog stew in the afternoon. Rather, it was the hedgehog making stew of everyone but himself all day long.

"That's it?" "That's the bootleg episode?" "THAT WAS JUST A BUNCH OF MID-EFFORT GORE SCENES!!" "Grrrrr Rodrigo betrayed us!!"
  • @BrightOvidio27
I can't tell why but I love the idea of a hero character going insane and the villain realizes they're actually in trouble this time. No amount of evil schemes or traps would save them this time. Idk why I just love that idea
  • Would've been even more complete with a bootleg sonic sez fragment , but the whole thing would be just a darkened image of the Sonic Sez sign without tails and sonic for like 20 seconds, because they're both dead
