Come visit Malaysia! I’m Malaysian and I used to think that I would make the U.K. my forever home. However, the past few years have really made me appreciate my country just a bit more. If you do visit, we will welcome you with open arms !
  • There is no RIGHT choice. Live your life, not by what others think. I've been quietly watching your videos and relate a lot with what you've been talking about. I'm 35 and quit my high paying job last year, so far had 4 months out trying to repair myself and also like you seeking change. Therapy has been great to keep me in check and I hope you enjoy your holiday and making the change you want.
  • I left and never came back. That was 20 years ago. It was supposed to be 6 months, and eventually I made a life all around the world. Lived in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil and South Korea in that time. You never know where life will take you. Enjoy the adventure.

Congrats and good luck! 🎉 We're so proud of you! 👏🥂
  • Good luck to you mate and hope you get you what you need from your trip. I travelled solo to Morocco when I was 30 and met and hung out with people of all ages from 25-60. Had a great time and never felt out of place so I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine too!

I can totally relate to this…and I think a lot of people are feeling like this right now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts…you’ll be helping a lot of people 🙏

Moving to dubai or america in 2026. Good choice lad. Dont come back. Nothing left here
  • @MikesGlitch
I'm happy for you, well done! Looking forward to hearing how you get on! I'm planning on traveling more this year, but I'm always delaying the date due to contract extensions etc. I know how it is to feel "stuck" in the normal patterns

I’ll second a lot of these comments Jay. I think the thing which interests me the most is the pure honesty in you vids and the fact that you’ve started recording the journey from day one… from the not so good feelings, I am intrigued to see how in time things change for you. Keep it up.
  • @FlashVedder
I feel the same way… I’m Irish living in Barcelona… love every minute of it and I couldn’t move back because I do love open nature, landscape, mountains, and cultures… also I had lived in Canada for 2 years…. I do worry about the EU if it did collapse (I really hope it doesn’t) I would leave Europe all together… great video btw :)
  • It was really interesting to hear you planned a trip to Bangkok, because last week I booked my own. I'm Dutch, so we are neighbours. My social group was massive, but is now virtually non existend, I'm 38. I have never felt truly at home here. I have always felt more connected with international people. My trip will be for a couple of weeks, but it is also to see if I can picture myself living in Thailand, near the beach for the better climate. The weather in Holland and the UK is depressing. Simply seeing the sun would be a massive help. But the most interesting thing is going to be the international expat community of people there. Since most come there being alone, most will be open to meeting new people. I believe your decision of becoming a digital nomad will be the best decision you will ever make. Enjoy.

Maybe you are thinking of the digital nomad scene which might be a younger crowd, but when i was in Bangkok/Phuket last year on vacation, there were many foreigners in their 30s and 40s, you will definitely fit in. In fact, I think most guys your age go to SEA for the same reasons you stated (perhaps also to find a wife). Wish you exciting travels, and this is a good update video!
  • @S.Lanap63
Arrive in 1999 ... left UK in 2019 I undertand you .. and im even foreigh good luck to you mate
  • @globalital

  • @NicolasJ1992
Hi Jay! I'm curious about your new adventure in Southeast Asia and especially what insights it will give you, now that you have the chance to reflect on your current life from a distance. Hopefully we will see this in a video.😉I'm a 31-year-old man from Belgium and have been following you for a while. I don't know any person (online and in real life) who reflects my thoughts as accurately as you do. It's even frightening at times.😆 Your content is super helpful (definitely don't underestimate it). I wish you all the best!
  • @ishakkyusuf8784
@Jay Wallace Any updates on your move, How is it & how is the cost of living in Bangkok?
  • @fabmaester
You'll be fine mate. 30M from Uk I was in Bali solo for 3 weeks this summer and had a class time. Socialising with 25-34 year olds mainly, I would say Bali was a younger crowd than the phillipines (when I went in 2019). Probs depends on where you go to the demographic you'll meet/just fluke. You'll have an unreal time, enjoy :)
  • @drakeramoray9486
Men , i spent last winter in Thailand and i can tell you that there a lot of travallers 60+ old. For such places you are never old)
  • @captain_av
I've been sneaky watching your videos. I'm struggling with taking solo trips to other countries. Any advice?
