Guns in Stalker games are generally inaccurate in the first place, but beating this with shotguns is insane.

The dart rounds (a.k.a. sabot rounds) act like slugs, but instead of crushing armor/flesh, it pierces the armor; they are really meant for armor (i.e. exoskeletons). Think of dart rounds as "AP slugs" per se.

I've always played S.T.A.L.K.E.R. using only shotguns. They're so powerful and cheap plus the different types of ammo make them so polyvalent.

The Mad Max gun (TOZ-66 trimmed down into a "hogleg") is actually good. You just have to use finesse to be effective with it. It's wrongly described as a "beginner's weapons." Because of the finesse required to use it effectively, it's not really a rookie gun. Something else about the Mad Max gun is that ShoC's version of it is the most realistic interpretation of a double-hammer type of side-by-side shotgun in any game ever, even when compared to how it's depicted in the other unmodded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. As for the Chaser 13, it's ackchyually based on a Maverick 88, not a Winchester 1300. Also, only a chump would put a stockless pistol grip on a shotgun that has rifle sights. 11:46 Ackchyually, you can take down a pseudogiant with four buckshot blasts to its twisted face, even with the Mad Max gun. 24:40 I've only had that happen in Oblivion Lost 2.2 and it was with the short-barrel Benelli M3 Super 90 (which normally holds five rounds and fits in your pistol slot which means you can use it while driving). 28:58 Try inventing your own Zone Sportsmanship Challenges! If you're like me and you keep playing the radiant quests as much as possible, you'll be given at least 100 of these damn things every time you pass thru Cordon. Hey, if you do another run like this, here're good tips : If you kill the military men under the bridge you can get a stash "by a country road" that has the most powerful shotgun in the game. If you go back to the underground after travelling to the duty base or the dark valley, bandits will respawn and one of them will have a unique spas. You can also find a unique "combat shotgun" in the wild territory stashes.
