I don’t tend to comment on videos, but this was the first guided playthrough I ever did, I’ve since played through them all, but I’ve come back to this one as I finally got to level 99, also only 18 left on the grail. Couldn’t have done it without your videos. Thanks for it all, MrLlamaSC.

6:18 Try to immediately get a scepter for good attack speed and damaage 32:39 Shopping tricks 48:04 Level 10 skill point decisions. Planning ahead for Level 12 56:26 Keep an eye out for 2os scimitar (or any sword, axe, mace) for Level 13 Steel (Tir El). Level 15 Malice (Ith El Eth) in a flail or other 3os melee weapon would also be a good runeword later 1:34:31 Malice would be an upgrade from Steel 1:41:25 Cube recipe: 3 chipped gems of any kind and a Magic Item (e.g. scepter) rerolls the item and adds a socket 1:48:28 Crafting Stealth armor 1:55:41 Level ~1-17 Holy Fire build recap before Hammerdin respec at 2:01:10 1:50:39 There is no benefit in leveling the same Merc. They aren't like Pokemon. 2:08:03 Hammer hit trajectory 2:26:50 XP/Acts chart 2:42:24 Before Level 24, shop Act 3 Ormus for Teleport charges staff. Only look at the staffs with a red background because the red means items that have a Level 24 requirement that we can't equip yet. It's an easy way to save time while refreshing Ormus' inventory when zoning in and out of town 2:03:16 & 2:49:16 Alternating between skill points 2:54:27 Synergies only come from hard points, not soft points from items 2:55:28 How does +1 All Skills work? 3:05:58 Starting in Act 5, 4os Paladin shields can drop. Rush to get an early Spirit shield 3:23:11 Cow Level cannot drop 4os Crystal Swords, Broad Swords, Long Swords, only bases that you have to socket using Socket Quest or Cube socket recipe 3:50:10 Hunt for gem shrines in Stony Field while carrying a Flawless gem to upgrade to Perfect

I love how every time I watch his newer videos, I can slowly see stuff getting added to his counter top.

Tiny details MrLlama didn't tell: At level 6 there is a small chance that belts (room for 12 pots) are sold. Gambling for them refreshes Gheed faster than it is to use a wp or run out of town and back in. Paladin needs the least amount of pots so this is more useful anywhere else but here :D When you get Holy Fire, a scimitar is always better because most of the damage comes from the fire and scimitar can have 2 sox which is useful for Steel runeword or poison or cold dmg and has the highest attack speed, so always check for it when you're shopping. Scimitar needs 21 dex which is 1 more than the Paladin starts with. Putting the first 5 point into dex pays off double. Holy Fire works on a bow as well, which is fun and safer, but slightly slower and when you're lvl 12 you can't zeal with a bow, but at level 15 you could have a Raven bow that has splash dmg and the fire from Holy fire also adds to that splash, making that bow the best weapon in the game for a Holy Fire zealot and if you have it, it's effective until about half way through nightmare, so respeccing around lvl 20 is then respeccing around 26-30. Hammers suck in maggot lair, so keeping the Raven until after that is a good idea. If you're super lucky you even have a Twitchthroe armor that gives increased attack speed and strength and dex enough to use the bow but can only be equipped at lvl 16 or higher. Cow King in normal has a fairly high chance to drop Death Set. The Death sash cannot be frozen and the gloves give 30 increased attack speed if you also have the belt. Obviously this isn't as useful if it's your first character and you won't be zealing for long anyway, but if you already have an MF sorc, it might be worth it to pick up the partial set for new characters. It also gives 10 all res and some life steal. If you don't have this, bloodfists will be a nice find along the way. 10 increased attack speed and 40 life and I think 30 faster hit recovery which the death set doesn't have.

A year later, I'm watching every guided playthrough. 20 years, just when I got out, Diablo 2 pulled me back in!
  • @lewisvargrson
Okay, speed runs are awesome. But I think it's cool that you are just playing, chilling, and teaching your viewers about the game.
  • @ferinzz
There's no guides out there for early game <3 thank you for these. Haven't played in years, but never knew so much about the good early runewords that this was super nice to see.
  • @Fallub
The trick to skip the way from the palace to Meshif after killing Duriel with a tp was worth the watch alone. Thanks for that.
  • @xmanxavier11
You are a more patient man than I, MrLlama. Would've muted TTS before I was even born to make this video. Great video, btw. Maximum comfy to watch and I swear I learn new stuff in this game all the time even though I've been playing it since release.
  • That series is absolute fantastic. And everytime i learn new stuff. No wonder why D2 is one of my favorite games of all time. LG from Germany
  • @rtomlinson89

  • @544CampStreet
These guides are boss for someone like me coming back to D2 after many years. I've started like 5 classes using these guides this week. Thanks Llama!
  • @1000imps
Big up for 4 hours of watching how mobs get hammered and pounded.
