In an era of artificial intelligence, humanity must provide values that technology cannot—by becoming more human. At the core of our humanity resides something both simple and potent: deep listening. “How Deep Listening Can Change Our World” explores the profound impact of this often-overlooked skill. By fostering the art of deep listening, we transcend surface interactions to connect with the heartbeats of others. This practice helps us navigate the complexities of the technological age with empathy, understanding, and a steadfast commitment to our collective well-being. It is the key to accessing our collective intelligence and recognizing differences as resources. This talk offers a fresh understanding of listening and how, through this simple act, we can bring about the change we want in our world. Christine Samuel is a coach, facilitator, author, and speaker. She dedicates her work to exploring these questions: What creates transformative human experiences? How can we bring Relational Intelligence into the way we work together? Through her guidance, individuals not only expand their capacity to trust themselves more fully but also develop the ability to listen to themselves and others. Her book, “The Heart Space: Living with Grace and Ease in an Era of Uncertainty,” launches on April 20, 2024. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
