And she became the silent princess... The flower she dearly loves... Such good writing
  • @MexicanRmz
I was like "I'm gonna take my time and finish the story whenever I want", but then after seeing this memory and realizing that she had been waiting all this time as a dragon, I rushed my way in to kick Ganon's butt.

Zelda sacrificing herself to restore the Master Sword was already emotional enough. Seeing those silent princess flowers after the last dragon tear broke me. Well played there, Nintendo. You made a grown ass man cry over flowers in a video game.
  • Keep in mind that the last thing you see in Great Sky Island before going down to Hyrule is Zelda as a dragon piercing the clouds. Nobody realized at the beginning of the game.
  • @Spoopball
The flowers being there after the cutscene is such a low blow from the devs lol
  • @JetZV
In case you didn't catch it the first time, you can hear the last of her scream within the dragon's roar. Like it's the last of her humanity slipping away in a final cry for help... No, I'm not okay. Thanks for asking.
  • A nice detail (and a bit of foreshadowing) is that the Light Dragon’s theme plays Zelda’s Lullaby using the same instrument as the Dragons
  • @AlexValadez
Zelda cant catch a break. Any version of Zelda really. They're always willing to sacrifice themselves. This one really hurt though.

The writers at Nintendo already demonstrated some courage and willingness to take risks with the last game, what with Zelda struggling to access her powers, and botw's success probably encouaged them to go even further this time around. That's honestly very commendable to be able to write like this, it's got this confidence to it.

Your reminder that this blows Zelda being imprisoned for 100 years out of the water. The founding of Hyrule took place tens of thousands of years ago. That's how long Zelda has waited as a dragon.
  • @Rizky-Gumilar
I love that the most important tear has to be found at the silent princess area. The symbolism is just beautiful
  • Feel sorry for the poor souls who thought “wow this master sword on the map looks cool, I’ll go here first”
  • when she said "Protect them all!" and cried as a dragon, I cried too
  • @amxterxsu138
every time i go up to her for some resources, i always sit there for a while and leave a silent princess on her head when i leave
  • @sedarue123
I was thinking Zelda was the dragon when it felt like the dragon was following me. I just remember beating the water temple and mid boss fight I was like wait a minute-dragon?! She was so close to the fight too. After that, it felt like every major story beat the dragon was there. People did say they wanted Zelda to travel with us, but if this isn’t some monkey paw be careful what you wish for crap I don’t know what is.
  • @Damariobros
I called this from the beginning of the game, but I thought it was metaphorical, that she wouldn't become an actual dragon… I thought it was immortality but you lose your heart and soul… I thought that was why Zelda was acting weird… I was wrong… 😭
  • @nimloc1670
I'm glad I'm not the only one who bawled. I cried so hard, it was embarrassing. She didn't deserve this, man. I had to stand up for a couple of minutes after this. It only took a few seconds for her to be teleported to a different timeline and next thing you know, this happened.
  • @Skyfire-x
I have this idea - lore theory(?) that the Geoglyphs and the Tears are how she remembered her purpose across an untold time. That's why she flies over all of them.

At times like these, it makes me wonder what's going through Link's head. Like what's his reaction whenever he realizes the lose of a loved one. I know it must be painful, but he woke up 100 years later to find out all of his friends were dead and now Zelda's sacrificed herself to entrust him with the fate of Hyrule. I wanna hug this man so bad, but I can't.
