I've headed down to Covent Garden today to dine in Jamie Oliver's new restaurant called Jamie Oliver Catherine Street... won't win many awards for originality but I haven't tried any of Jamie's restaurants yet so I'm interested in giving this one a go!

It's really nice to see a foodie YouTuber who doesn't make a fuss about things like the sauce being forgotten. Always a pleasant experience watching you
  • @susannah1184
So polite of you not to film when others were close by. How considerate. Thanks Gary xx

Gary: professional, no drama, considerate, humble, and relateable 👍
  • @JamieOliver
Love this! Thank you for the review. We are glad you had a good time.

He didn't pay his staff when his old chain went bankrupt, but he managed to filter out a few million for himself in the weeks leading upto the bankruptcy.

Possibly one of the most professional food reviews ive watched this year! Superb! 👏
  • @ladyT_VR46
You're such a lovely bloke, not wanting to disturb the other guests. It's also nice to hear positive comments about Jamie Oliver for a change 😊

That meal was screaming out for a bottle of wine from start to finish. 😋

I'm with Marco Pierre White when it comes these celeb restaurants, when he says that if the chef whose name is over the door and is not making the food in the kitchen, then stay away!
  • The classiest food reviewer in the game, Gary makes me feel like a distinguished gentleman as I watch this while eating my frozen dinner.

Very respectful of you to stop the filming, probably didn’t need to, but shows how conscientious you both are, you could see at times how hard ‘The Cameraman’ was working to try and avoid filming others.

When Jamie announced it, I was curious to see what it would be like and so I’m pleased that you’ve given us an insight now Gary. Another great review!

Another great review. Sadly, I won’t visit this establishment simply because of the way Jamie Oliver left his suppliers and staff high and dry when his empire collapsed. He should have been made to pay what he owed before being allowed to start up another business. Just morally wrong in my humble opinion. x

I went with my partner to a Jamie Oliver restaurant in Newcastle a few years ago (it's been a couple of different things since), and the experience was mediocre at best, particularly relative to the amount we paid. It's good to see that this restaurant at least appears to buck the trend, so maybe we'll see some more pop back up! Great video as always, just what we need in these trying times... honest, entertaining, wholesome content. Thank you!

Within the industry Jamie was just a celebrity cook that was made big on TV. Many years ago I trained under a chef that made his own mark. He once told me, don't chase accolades and fame, just cook with passion. He said you could have all the AA rosettes and Michellin stars, but if your restaurant is empty everyday it means nothing in the end! It stuck with me. I was working at a small B&B in the New Forest called Gordelton Mill, and my chef was Jean Christoph Novelli. I just hope and pray that Jamie Oliver has the same humility now. It's a great review Gary, let's hope Jamie is not distracted by Sainsbury's ads or children's school meals, and a little more present and focused this time on his restaurant.

It's like listening to your best mate. One of the best food reviewers on YouTube.

I've watched him over the years and I'd never class him as a Chef, He's a cook. Another venue where customers will expect him to be in the kitchen, yes, but he'd be washing pots whilst earning a fortune it's the actual team in the kitchen that deserve any praise including the servers.

Love this channel! Though always makes me laugh when virtually every single time Gary turns to run towards the restaurant someone appears out of no-where and gets in the way 🤣
  • @atypicalink3980
One of the most proper, honest and real food review channels I have subscribed to. Very fair, inspite of some restaurant owners having an infamous rep. This is a gem of a food review channel in YoutTube. Keep on keeping on! 😊

A great review Gary and I love how considerate you are to those around you.
