I'm a metalhead, but this is one of the greatest songs to ever be created.

Being shit broke never felt so beautiful. Peace.
  • I was at a heavy metal concert and during one of the intermissions, this song came on over the loudspeakers. Being in the middle of thousands of black-clad metalheads all of us singing along to this song together was one of the most wholesome moments I ever experienced.

One of my favorite memories is when we're on the teen youth bus to go anywhere and our pastor will start singing this song with us a capella style (hes from West Virginia lol) its just awesome, all of us coming together on a large bus, a bunch of teenagers with different social statuses, and singing this song with all our heart and soul. ❤️

American folk singer John Denver was an artist in the most genuine sense of the word - he used his craft to change the world. A songwriter, performer, actor, environmentalist and humanitarian, Denver was not only one of the most beloved entertainers of the 1970s but a leading advocate of global causes until his tragic death in 1997. Songs such as "Take Me Home, Country Roads" and "Sunshine on My Shoulders" garnered him critical acclaim while simultaneously catapulting his gentle message towards the earth, peace, and compassion to the masses.

I'm a born Indian. Brown skinned. But these kind of country songs sometimes take me to American country life and I feel like I had a previous life there.

I’m not from West Virginia, but I’m from close enough to have crossed the border a few times in my life. I can honestly say it can be scary at times when you’re a city kid, but then the natural beauty takes over. This song perfectly conveys how it feels to be in that wonderful state. God bless the USA.
