I was in Loreto for 3 weeks last December and I fell in love with the town and am retiring there in 4 months.
  • Great information! You gave me a couple of new options I hadn't thought about.
  • @gianniutube
I had to watch to the end, and give you a thumbs up, because I respect the quality of the research and presentation to make this as accurate and easy to consume as possible. Thank you!

Just don’t move to Mexico if you are going to become viral for the wrong reasons. We Mexicans are very accepting of foreigners, as long as you don’t disrespect our culture.

Thanks for a great video Marianna. I have chosen SMA, at least to begin my journey. What I will miss is the water, but I can't handle the humidity on the coast of mainland Mexico and the Baja is too far removed from Mexico for what I want. What I find disheartening when people talk about Chapala is yes, it's beautiful from a distance, but when you start talking to locals, you learn the lake is filthy - polluted with all kinds of waste. Nobody tells you that up front....

Another great video Mariana!!! I always learn so much from you!! We have been to many of the top places, but not all, and this gives us a few more to visit. Being in Seattle makes it difficult to get to our first choice(Boquete), so a direct flight sounds really good right now! I love the idea of somewhere less bustling and big, where I’m not hearing English predominantly!

I love that I spot Puerto Vallarta in the first 14 seconds. It has my vote.
  • @Misszumicat
thank you! gracias! i lived in DF (renamed CDMX) for 3.5 years a long time ago, but I"m done with big cities now. So it was great to see this list.
  • Guanajuato should’ve made it. I was hoping to hear more about Guanajuato for this year.
  • @akken2112
That was a very informative video. I've been to five of the cities on your list and plan on going to a few more, including some that aren't on your list like Oaxaca and Veracruz. Muchas gracias por el vídeo.
  • Congrats! This is one of the best 10 best places to live i've seen about Mexico. Now, as a Mexican, I can't help worrying about a foreign invasion. Although Mexicans in general are mostly welcoming and respectful of foreigners, I worry about the effect your video might have on the kind of people who may be attracted to Mexico only for the weather, but not the culture, history or present world standings. Anyway, I'm surprised that Queretaro, my hometown, didn't make your top ten, since it is the perfect halfway point, literally, between the small town atmosphere of SMA and Mexico City. Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Monterrey, Oaxaca, Veracruz, Campeche, Morelia, Aguascalientes ... there are so many other places that could have been included. You did a great job, however, considering the multitude of choices.
  • @dandeluca
great video. i think your channel is the most balanced channel for expats interested in Mexico. Really good.
  • @HH-kc1ym
I saw the volcano peeping out of the clouds, on my flight from CDMX, 17800 ft and it was puffing, incredible sight from the plane.
  • @mxdavie
Great video and great list! I'm sure it was a lot of work to put together, so thank you. :) Kinda surprised Atlixco didn't make the cut, though. Maybe too small?
  • Great video and amazing images of the ideal places. I'm sure one's could find an ideal Shangri-la in Mexico. As a wild cards I would add Oaxaca, LaPaz and Ixtapa. Thanks again for the insightful comments.
