  • to be clear, I KNOW that the pic of Oda I used isn’t even Oda lmaoo. when u look up ‘eiichiro oda’ on google that’s like the second pic that comes up for some reason, MY BAD
  • @Jampolo_OG
What's disturbing is that they see this as natural
  • It’s crazy how a lot of people hate on artist, and get mad when they take breaks. There’s always going to be people out there who just hate for no reason.
  • @GarredHATES
Togashi is like “fuck that ima rest!” I’ll never complain about HxH hiatus. That wonderful man can take his time
  • @tachibana6288
I just love how he used so much footage from Isayama and yet he didn't even mention him lol
  • @jojobear327
Kentaro Miura died before completing his story which means he died having created a perfect series rather than rushing. Let’s be thankful he left a big impact on artist and games. Without him there would be no dark fantasy.
  • This is very true, I’m only 18 and I started drawing my own manga about 3 months ago and I’m only on the 11th page, what’s even more insane is that I started actually planning my story 4 years ago, and I still haven’t even finished the first chapter…let that sink in.

This is why making a chapter per month should be a standard, I prefer such mangas like AoT or Hanako-kun where I know I always get a high quality of both art and storytelling each month without feeling sorry for the creators possibly overworking themselves to death.
  • @benhlomuka3218
And that is why I respect all mangakas, even the crappy ones.
  • i think we as readers need to encourage mangkas take more breaks. i don’t mind waiting for the next chapter their physical and mental health is more important.
  • Hajime Isayama started writing his story in the mid 2000s, didn’t get published til 2010 and just finished the last chapter 2021, doing it all by himself. He deserves all the success he has. Such a beautiful story with so many themes and great world building, I honestly doubt ill ever see another story like it in my lifetime. I always heard Japan had a huge overwork culture but never knew it was this bad.

Im a young artist, gonna be 19 soon. I once was so passionate about my comic, i drew 60 full color fully shaded pages in just over 2 weeks, while also being an art student and keeping up with my other art assignments. I got a repetitive strain injury, and if i draw for too long, it comes back. There were days when I couldn’t open my hand, even hold a pen without being met with a stinging pain that went all the way up my arm. I wear a brace and take pain killers as soon as it comes up. That was self inflicted. I did that too myself. Even then, i was already a famous over worker amongst my peers, and the way that it was applauded. My passion that has lead to a maybe permanent injury is admired. And thats sick, that kind of culture amongst artists should be discouraged, artists are people, not a content pipeline
  • @BuckHunter103
A pretty popular series called spy family on jump has a bi-weekly schedule (2 weeks per chapter) so I feel if can be more common, things can get better as artists can have more time
  • @visperiagacha
Mangakas truly needs respect. Oda was hospitalized because of his overworked, and his very good friend kishimoto went to visit him, but instead of Oda resting, he was still working under such circumstances. I'm also glad Kishimoto and Oda helped each other out to finish Dressrosa Arc.

And still people on Twitter send death threats, and harass Mangakas every week. As an Asian, it's disappointing to see how many people illegally consume Manga yet have the audacity to complain and nitpick. Usually in Physical Volumes, correction in Art and dialogues is done but I see every week people just bashing and comparing Mangakas' art and insulting them. People need to understand that every Mangaka is different. Not everyone draws like Inoue Sensei, not every story I same yet they insult creators by comparing them. I am happy that some Mangakas don't use Social media much, it's disheartening to see people harassing you when you were simply putting your hard work out there for people to enjoy.
  • @nelykodei3270
that's why it would be good to buy physical or digital manga, instead of reading it from illegal sites.I know that a lot of readers can't afford it, but if you do, please support the manga artists

I hope that Isayama is rich for life. Every single character in his saga is like a universe. Not a single one is shallow. We somehow know that, even with the ones that appear in the story fleetingly, if we were allowed into their story, a LOT would be revealed. And yet he had to deal with people whining and even disrespecting him because he saw his vision to the end instead or writing their fanfic end.
