Increased US support in the Middle East suggests an ‘Iranian response is imminent’

ASPI’s defence strategy analyst Dr Malcolm Davis says the increased US support in the Middle East suggests an “Iranian response is imminent”.

The Pentagon has recently reported the US military will deploy additional fighters and Navy warships to the Middle East.

The US support comes after the threats from Iran and its allies Hamas and Hezbollah.

    It is a good thing that president Biden is strong, fast and intelligent. He will have the best reaction at once. And if he does not, then his Vice-President can surely lead him to the crisis room, holding his hand. And there they can drink starbucks latte and forget why they came there in the first place.

    I am a bit concerned about Josh Shapiro. He will be Kamala's pick as VP. He's a former IDF soldier. I'm not comfortable with a former IDF soldier being one step away from the Oval Office.

    Any direct conflict with Iran increases the use of tactical nuclear weapons. Particularly if Israel's sovereignty is in danger.
