I watched the Women's high jump live feed as it was streamed. Watching her break the world record in real time was absolutely electric.

It seems like only yesterday that Yaroslava was the under 18 European champ. I was amazed by her talent then. Now this! Congrats Yaroslava...you worked so very hard and rightfully deserve this new WR. I am very happy for you!

Her technique when she cleared 2:07 was so clean, unbelievable execution. She knew after that jump she was in the zone, and then does 2:10 first attempt. ❤

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is my new hero. My new role model.

Another truly remarkable effort was Kendricks in the pole vault, his clearance of 5.95m actually had a minimum clearance of 6m 22!!!! just 2cm shy of the world record, what a jump, what potential.

She's been building to this for a couple of years, like jumping 2.06 indoors. Then something happened to disrupt Ukrainian athletics, I've heard. Completely not out of nowhere.

Surely I can’t be the only one disappointed by the commentary during Mahuchikh’s 2.10m. During track events they’ll be screaming their heads off in delight when someone runs the 18th fastest time in history, meanwhile this completely unexpected 2.10m for one of the oldest records in athletics felt like it was being commentated as some run-of-the-mill competition.

What a wonderful Ambassador for high jump & Ukraine... beautiful, talented, a 22 years old, breaks a 37 year old barrier. Magic stuff, fly yaroslava, fly😅😊😊

Well done, Mr Jumpman, for delivering a story about Yaroslava's WR! I mean, we people love telling stories to each other, and yet all those YT channels do is presenting us witn boring footages from broadcasting. The moment when she made that 10 sign, man, that was iconic!

She blew my mind when I watched her jump at Rome 2024, made it look so easy. So, I can believe it. Exciting times with so many records getting smashed :D
  • Thanks for the video. What an event! And Yaroslava’s jump is a watermelon sized cherry on top.
