i grew up in California. Didn't know a thing about this song. Then I went to college at the University of North Carolina and every frat party I wasn't cool enough to get into would blare this song as I walked by on Friday or during the last week of classes. Didn't think about it. Then I went to a party at a bar with my friends and they all loved this song. I asked this cute girl to dance to it and I finally got it. Nothing ever happened with the girl. But the song stuck with me. Just around this time, Darius's version came out and I played it on repeat. Now, anytime I am at any thing in the Carolinas, block parties, weddings, karaoke, I see folks gather in a circle and sing this song. And it brings me back to my college days, dancing with that girl, watching games with my friends. It's in my bloodstream now. It's part of my musical DNA. I don't know why but every time I listen to Darius sing I tear up. His voice is truly special. It's a spiritual experience for me.

I was always opposed to country music as a whole but Mister Darius really turned me on to it. His voice is just beautiful, like a gift from God himself and it makes me feel so good after a long ass day at work.
