as soon as you said "take it out of the box and plug it in" i knew i was in the right place.

Another "I bought a sewing machine during the pandemic, and it stayed in the box" person here. I've been so intimidated by it for years now. But after watching this video, I think I've found a channel I can watch and learn along with, since there aren't any in person 'sewing club' or 'community class' sessions for easily intimidated types like myself lol Thank you for being detailed without going off on tangents. A lot of people when they're trying to teach beginners will skip steps because they've forgotten all the things they actually had to learn along the way. Assume nothing is previously known, a step is never obvious enough to skip verbalizing, and never talk down while explaining. 👍

I bought a sewing machine December 2021. I am just now taking it out of the box 8 June 2024. This is my first lesson because I wrote "sewing" on my To-Do list for today.
  • @qc9329
I actually sewed my first stitch today!! Yaaaaay!!!!
  • Just got a sewing machine for Christmas. A hobby I have wanted to learn since I was very young. Was nervous about trying to learn and went through so many videos, but yours is the one that spoke to me! You are so clear and easy to understand! You speak at the speed I needed and show every step! I really needed this, thank you 🥹♥️

Angelina! You are a life saver!! OMG! My grandma taught me how to sew when I 14! I cant see the needle hole and have ADHD! Soooo many ideas, but panic sinks in and I am paralyzed! Have no clue where to start and become completely overwhelmed with fear then shut down. Your video was the right pace, right energy simply perfect! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

I really love that you showed different ways to practice sewing at the end. Also, the best piece of advice I ever received when I started sewing was to NOT FOLLOW THE NEEDLE. I think that most new sewists just instinctively keep an eye on the thing that is moving the fastest on the sewing machine. I've halted many projects because I couldn't sew a straight line. Glad to see more people giving this advice to newbies.

Nice tutorial! I am a union Sheetmetal Worker of 40yrs getting ready to retire in February. I got a sewing machine for Christmas. Getting ready to thread this thing up and give it a go.
  • Lady Blue, you are the greatest sewing teacher!! Clear, loud, concise and precise, Old guy here that i kind inherited an vintage kenmore machine. after seeing about 20 30 videos, I found your videos and im glad I did, 5 minutes ago, i stitched for the very first time, a straigt line on 2 pieces of scrap, materials following ur instructions!! Yeah... thank you so much ill be watching more to get better at this. Blessings.!!
  • Angelina, you did a great job explaining how to use a sewing machine!!! I’ve been sewing since I was 10 years old; Mom taught my sisters and me how to sew. I’ve always upcycled clothing, especially thrifted stuff. I like having pieces that are different than everyone else’s. ❤️❤️Judy❤️❤️
  • One of the most helpful vids ive watched. Got my machine 3 days ago, watched multiple vids & read the manual but NO ONE except this lovely lady explained ALL the little things to get you going. Not over-explained so that ur overloaded but def filled in a few blanks i couldnt find answers to elsewhere, including the manufacturers "beginners guide"!
  • @RacetobeHoly
I keep coming back to this video for my brother lx2763 that was collecting dust for 4 years. Thanks for existing
  • I took my machine out of the closet then out of the box about a month ago and set it in my desk. You’ve motivated me to use it!! Thank you! Excited to see what’s next.
  • @msplbaker
You're a very good teacher! I've taken an in person class & was still intimidated by the sewing machine. You explained it extremely well and now I'm excited to get started! Thank you!!!
  • @bellarose6509
This is great because I haven’t touched a machine for maybe 20 years. I learned to sew on my mother’s machine. I want to buy a machine soon, but I was worried that new machines are very different. The good news is they aren’t, but you got me past my fear!🙏☮️
  • I purchased a beginner Janome and was to intimidated to take it out of the box. Ihave never used a sewing machine in my life. Thanks to you, I have courage. Thank you so much.
  • Thanks! The bobbin process always gets me every time. I can’t wait to follow your instructions to get started.
  • @Karma-iz4ir
Your opening line made me LOL because my new machine has been sitting in the Box for 5 years. Tomorrow I'm going to try to set it up.
  • @lannbcreative
Thank you. I needed a refresher as it has been over ten plus years since I have sewn.
  • @niyac8425
Love this. I have had a sewing machine for years and now with some extra time I think it’s time to pull it out. Thank you!
