I prefer to buy files without handles and then use this thing instead of either adding a handle to every file or buying bulky files with handles already attached.
Another advantage is that if you want to repurpose the file, you can do so easily without having to remove a handle.

I like that it still works like their old wooden handles I wish they sold just the metal hardware so you could make your own wood handles that worked this way
