Today, I want to give you a good answer to the question “Tell me about yourself”.
This is truly the best way to answer the question, tell me about yourself. Its authentic, genuine, sincere, honest, and HUMAN.

I see so many people out there giving these cold, corporate, inhuman-type answers, because they talk about just their accomplishments and their work experience, and that’s it. But a good answer is an honest answer. So, when an employer asks them, “Tell me about yourself” they just rattle off their accomplishments and some of their work experience and then stay there.

Learn how to give a good honest answer to: TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF by hiring expert: Don Georgevich of: jobinterviewtools.com/

Man, I hate this question.... actually I just hate interviews.
  • At first I didn’t like the idea of “telling a compelling story” but took Don’s advice, told the interview panel what REALLY moved me about my career and it made such an impact they gave me the promotion! This video made a huge difference and definitely worked for me.
  • I love retail sales where I am interacting with others and a busy work environment. I grew up in a family that had thier own store business, it really inspired me seeing grandpa's store and retail is something i really like doing. (Its about the journey) I got hired on the spot at a store with big job gaps, used this answer.

Today I had a job interview. Thanks to you, I was prepared for anything that could happen and had a plan, detailed like the one they had to invade Normandy back then. It turned out a walk in the park. Easiest ever and I think this was so easy, because I knew exactly, that with the prep you provided for free here, I will be safe no matter what. Normally I am overexcited, fearful and make mistakes in interviews based on my insecurity. None of this today. I copied your bodylanguage and way of talking, as you are an absolute pro in communication At the moment I still live in a tent without income, yet I will soon be very well and buy your book to pay for your invaluable free services. Thank you!

Out of all the videos I've watched on this particular subject, you're the only one who talked about this question as being a way to make a "connection" with the potential employer; a warmer, more personal, and more human way of answering this question instead of interpreting and answering this question as a "tell me about all the great things you did." I love this method! If it were me hiring, this is what I would want to hear from the candidate, and not "all the great things you did. I know your great, that's why I called you in for an interview" kinda thing. Thank you for this great and insightful video!

Thank you, Doc. I am a HR professional with over 13 years of experience and always struggled to prepare for this question, though I do alright. But until now, I would be focused on that corporate/cold answer. Now, while I was watching this video, I came up with my story and I know now exactly how to answer it. Thank you so much for the thoughtful video. Keep doing the great work!!
  • I'm not well educated so my jobs aren't so fancy but your tips really help make me relax. talking to a stranger is intimidating thing to me

Thank you, Don Your video clips help me a lot on job interviews. You taught me on how to organize the answer and how to use proper words, and tell the story about the achievements, and so on. Your efforts here are much appreciated. I hope others can also benefit from your work here. Thank you again, and I wish you all the best.
  • Thank you Don!! I got two job offers today because of you. Your videos are the best. Victoria

This is such a dangerous question for an employer to ask as it opens them up to such risk. “Tell me about yourself” invites a person to give interests/associations/details that, if the recruiter doesn’t hire the candidate, puts the company at risk for discrimination accusations. “Oh they didn’t hire me because I told them I was involved with X.” I really appreciated how Don made this about the professional journey without going into the truly personal.

This is the best response I’ve seen. Thank you. Being authentic is important...most people recommend talking about accomplishments and awards which is great, but not who you really are as a person.

I always think im great at interviews that more often i got hired. But this man made me realize "gosh im ashamed thinking that." Thank you sir, now im expecting this channel will be famous soon! ❤
  • Thank you so much for this great vid. I am pursuing an internship in drug counseling and was once told by a counselor that I would make a good therapist just because of my journey from a dysfunctional family to what I have become. Now I understand how personal problems, healing, education, and a very real passion has given me the ability to be a good counselor. Now, if I can only get all that down to a minute...
  • @bornfree6067
Tips for a job interview are to be anyone but yourself like saying "i loved my previous boss" . While Tips "tell me about yourself" would be showing your real self like "i hated my boss tbh"
  • @bonsaijooni
I took this approach for an editorial job and IT WORKED I GOT THE JOB!! This is my very first job and I’m already making a good wage, can’t thank you enough 🙏
  • One thing that I really struggle with Competency-based questions ("Give me an example of when...") - especially in situations that I've never encountered in my career. What makes things even more difficult for me is that practically every employer uses them - they're a really big thing here in the UK! I feel that the only way to overcome them is to circumvent them in some way - how can I do that?
