Would you recommend any other shows that flopped?
  • @GTNover
We still haven't forgotten about Acolyte
  • @cerebrix
i was glued to both continuum, alphas, and almost human

Human Target was ruined in its second season. It became family friendly, got rid of Bear McCreary, and added a bad love story. They just destroyed it. Almost Human was awesome! Fox aired the episodes it in the wrong order at a bad airtime and with that couldn't build a decent fanbase. Gallawand was epic! And the cancellation of Marco Polo was a crime

Gosh dang it, I'm still not over 'Almost Human' barely getting that one season. The acting, the world created fro the show, the vision of what technology and AI might be used ... it all worked together beautifully. I think the one flaw was to flanderize Dorian into being again and again the naive / soft spoken opposite to his Gruff Traumatized Cop partner. In the first episode, he was a bit more likely to push back; it feels like later episodes de-fanged him. But even so: some really cool action scenes in there, and I would have loved to see how the characters and the world would develop.

2015 Dark Matter staring Melissa O'Neal should also be on this list.

Almost Human and Galavant had so much more potential.
  • The exorcist tv series was hugely underrated. The second series was epic

Maybe it's Gary and The Drinker's fault these shows flopped because they have that kind of power and control in Hollywood, according to Looper

I remember watching Continuum and Almost Human, although I cannot remember the stories. But, Galavant is just tremendous. I would love to see more shows like that.
  • Hi looper!! Amazing and high quality video as always!! What's your take on Star Wars Acolyte?
  • @Gor85
Many good shows. Alphas,Human Target,Damnation,The Exorcist,Rad Band Society,Galacant,Almost Human.Marco Polo seems pretty good. Shame these shows got canceled. They could have last several years

It seems like a requirement of these canceled shows is SHAKEY cam. Maybe people couldn't physically watch it. Also, the crappier the show, the more camera shots per second are required. Human Target was fun, but it did jump the shark.
  • Some good titles here, but there are a few others that should have been mentioned. The Cape, Emergence, The Millers, No Ordinary Family, and Second Chance would all fit the bill. However, Powerless is criminally underrated and just kept getting funnier. It needed to set up the cast the first few episodes, but before midway, they really had a good show built up. Two stand out moments for me were Van Wayne building the Invisible Jet and the guest appearance of Adam West. Powerless definitely deserved a better run...

Alphas was a great show and I was disappointed when it got cancelled. Almost Human was really good too.

Always came to looper for movie stuff, but after hearing about your review on Acolyte, ima save my likes and give you all the dislikes from now on.
  • @eltinto
Forever could also be on this list
  • Vince Faraday is a cop who has been framed for murder, leading him to fall off the grid and become the super hero known only as "The Cape." This comic-book hero was was good, it even ended on a cliffhanger and it was not continued into season 2. 😢
