I recently played through the entire Act 3 of the Doomsday Heist in GTA Online, and it made me remember why I never play it anymore. The gameplay is outdated and the payouts still are lacking even after the recent buff.

    I agree! I HATE some of the setup missions when doing the Doomsday Heist. Most of them are so long, tedious and sometimes so boring. Even the Avenger Setup Missions is like HARDER than the actual Act 2 Bodgan Heist which mind you is the Easiest one.

    Biggest change would be to make these 1-4 players. Same for the old heists. That 4 players restriction even for some easy preps like steal prison bus is stupid af.
  • I feel like you forgot the “Your CEO Quit” bug. It is literally impossible to complete the criminal mastermind challenge for the Doomsday Heist.

    This is what I remember about Doomsday heists the most. Overall I was actually enjoying Doomsday heists when they came out but I noticed that every single act has at least 1 mission that's so boring and annoying that it demotivates me to play the heist. In act 1 it was the Deluxo prep mission. In act 2 I hated the firefighter mission the most I believe and in act 3 Chernobog mission is pure pain. Doomsday is in my opinion combination of one of the most fun and challenging missions with one of the worst missions at the same time.

    My main complaint with heist preps and setups is getting stuff that you wont be using, like the 4 Deluxos for Act 1, or the 4 Strombergs for Act 2, or the 2 cars for the Casino Heist.

    I wish you were able to grab a minimum amount of whatever you have to grab for 2 players, (so 2 Deluxos/Strombergs or 1 Casino car, 1 weapons bag etc would be the minimum for a 2 player team).
    Having to get enough for 4 players is just dumb and annoying when you usually dont even have 3 players let alone 4, its specially bad if you do the preps solo, this is why I dont bother doing the Casino Heist or Doomsday without buying preps, its just tedious.

    Otherwise most Doomsday Heist setups/finales (apart from a few) are the most fun I have on this game
  • I feel like the classic heists and doomsday heists need a overhaul. If they made the the classic heists similar to the casino heist setup wise that would be awesome

    Sometimes wish I had people to do some of these heists even if just for the current heist bonus stuff, seeing how tedious this one is again makes me kind of glad I don't need to do this one.
  • One thing I will say with Doomsday and Player Choice - it's actually ironically MORE flexible to player choice than Casino even. It's just that it doesn't actually tell you the things you can do on missions, or even really intended on them - there's less rails to stop you from doing it. Like for example on Server Farms, did you know you can kill everyone in the parking lot and wire it with sticky bombs, then also wire the elevator area with sticky bombs? If your team does that you can wipe out the entire parking lot and the central defenders in one click. The heist is littered with stuff like this, it's just not obvious. Or the 50 different methods you can use on the otherwise terrible act 2 finale..

    There is a reason to take both the Barrage and Khanjali - so that Clifford can't use either! Anyway, I totally agree with you about setups, however the act 3 finale is my favorite mission.
  • Every time when I TRY to complete the Doomsday Heist someone disconnects and we are FORCED to start all the way over from the beginning because the game kicks us out into freemode. This would not be so annoying if they would just add a Spectate system.

    While I agree the setups are unnecessarily long, the reason you steal both is to prevent Avon from arming himself with better weapons, you steal both so he won’t reproduce them, and so you can sell one of the cars.
  • The prep missions are too long, but I do like the challenge of the rescue agent 14 and Khanjali missions. Remember you get major discounts on some very cool vehicles as well while ALL of the Perico vehicles are garbage. Payouts are definitely too low, although in 2 player mode the finale isn't bad with the bonus.

    I recently ran through all 3 Doomsday acts with a buddy and at the end I got the Xbox 'rare' diamond achievements for each one, Bogdan was the 'highest' player percentage at 6% of all players playing GTA finishing it (and we all know why that is) but act 1 and 3 both had less than 5% of players finishing it, which seems like a waste of harddrive and data use to have a group of missions that barely anyone does, then again that is a very common theme with GTA, a game with thousands of missions/activities and barely any player count because people would rather run a Cayo to get money and then spend the rest of their time griefing in Freemode

    The same can somewhat be said about the Casino Heist. Still a great heist, mind you, but it would be vastly improved if it could be done solo.
    A few changes like only needing to steal one 4-door getaway vehicle and being able to pick more than just one part of the objective during prep missions. Making 2 trips bugs the hell out of me.
    Lastly, drop the need for 2 key cards to 1. I'd rather be encouraged to play with other people, not forced.

    Oh, and as a bonus, use the same mechanic as Cayo of having a random guard holding a key to a separate entrance. Except in the Casino Heist, this guard will have 3rd level clearance to cages within the vault

    It really sucks because Rockstar clearly made all these choices to sell more shark cards. If they made the content more engaging, fun and balanced, then the reason for buying shark cards wouldn’t be “so I don’t have to slog through everything”. It’s a big reason why I quit the game a few years ago. The content isn’t there for long term players to engage with and you find out it’s a shallow experience designed to get you to spend
  • Another thing to add to the list: 4-player Criminal Mastermind pays out $3.75 million but 2-player only pays out $750k. You'd think the less players, the higher the award but it's reversed. I feel like 4-player should stay at $3.75 million, 3-player should go up to $7.75 million and 2-player should be over $10 million since the missions are already hard enough as it is even with 4 players so 2 players should be rewarded more since they are losing their sanity to get a trophy/achievement saying they did the 3 hardest challenges possible.
