I love how the same music and style has endured generations and years for this series.
-
I remember waking up real early on the weekends to see this.
-
I wish they had shown this where I lived, I would have loved it back in 1991! (Or they should have re-released it when “Dragonball Z” became popular a few years later).
-
Akira Toriyama should be considered a Japanese National treasure. Who's with me?!
-
This was the first anime I watched when I was a kid. It also explains why I had a sting interest in dbz

Down the rabbit hole I go. This how I always wishes the DQ series would make me feel. Can not wait to go thru this series.
-
For an older anime, this dub's actually pretty good.

I really liked this series when i was younger. I was really into the Dragon Warrior video game for the NES. Thank you for posting this.
-
Watching this to pay tribute to Toriyama Akira.

This is fantastic quality! It is sort of scary to think that the only way this dub is persevered is because people like you recorded the series when it originally aired on TV. So thank you for uploading and recording the show when you did!

I don't understand how this show didn't do well? It seems like exactly the kind of show that would have been popular in the late 80s early 90s along with Thundercats, Robotech, and He-Man.

man the new DBZ looks greaaaat

Almost makes me sad how more younger people won't find this stuff as much anymore. :( I'm 22, (in a week) found it going down a rabbit hole and thought it looked oddly familiar somehow, even though I don't think I've seen it before, idk. Vague if so.

Goku before he got his powers

I saw the Closings on weekend mornings c. 1991. When I saw scenes of DBZ on Cartoon Network in the late 90s, I noticed a resemblance in the drawing style..

Loved this show when i was younger

Hang on a minute....why am I just now discovering this?!

Woah. I didn't know that there was a Dragon Quest anime way back in the early 1900s, and one which was brought to the States by Saban Entertainment (Shuki Levy and Haim Saban, co-founders of Saban Entertainment and major musical composers for many DiC and Saban cartoons, dubbed animes, and Might Morphin' Power Rangers), let alone Long John Bauldry (famed British Singer and voice of Dr. Ivo Robotnik in the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) was an voice actor for this English dub.
