So, somehow, in 2023, we are in the midst of an honest to god South Park renaissance. I covered 5 out of 6 episodes of Season 26, and to close everything out, I wanted to put everything in one place and add some final thoughts on the latest season of the show. This video is basically a compilation of all of my individual breakdowns, PLUS new thoughts on things I missed or got wrong in between each episode breakdown, and finally there will be a big final thoughts section on the season as a whole.

  • Sharon chastising Stan "What have I told you about playing Warhammer on the kitchen table?" also means that Stan, in his geeky way, had been low-key rebelling against his mother all spring break. If only Randy could have appreciated it.
  • Stan is also mentioned in prior seasons with episodes like “freemium gaming” as having addiction problems and using board games to deal with it. So in the episode “Spring Break” him playing board games is Stan’s version of rebelling and having a “Wild bender” of a spring break
  • Dickinbaus was easily my favorite episode this season. Of course, I'm a sucker for Butters centric episodes though. He's just easily my favorite character in the show.
  • Betsy is actually voiced by treys daughter! And when she was recording her lines she actually added in the you herself!

Personally I thought Worldwide Privacy Tour was one of the best episodes they’ve ever done. There is a bit that almost no one has caught but it’s brilliant. Notice how the Prince only does drum fills when he practices as opposed to actually playing a grove. It’s such a deep implication that he never played with anyone.

57:10 here in the UK you could definitely tell worldwide privacy tour had a huge impact on getting people back into the show
  • This really feels like a return to form for South Park and I love it. That line “A Lord of the Rings prequel?! What were you thinking?!” straight up had me laughing for a good three minutes.
  • I hope Tolkien gets an episode with Kenny in the future. Kenny is the only member of the boys to not get an episode with Tolkien.

One thing I think Dickinbaus commented on that you didnt go over was how the laziness of managers is also to blame. You can’t start a business, eat expensive mustard, and live a rich-lux life and expect your workers to be motivated to work for you. Butter’s basically became the owner at that breaking point, and his passion rather than desire for money saved the restaurant.
  • It's really nice to see Kenny and Cartman have their own episode after they'd been distant in past seasons. The boys used to be structured like Stan and Kyle are friends, Kenny and Cartman are friends, and because Stan and Kyle get along with Kenny they sort of just end up hanging out with Cartman. So, reinforcing Kenny and Cartman's friendship was both sorely needed and refreshing.

I’m so upset this was a short season. I know why (the specials and such) but considering they can pump these out with incredible quality in just a week, makes me wish for more. Maybe it’s just me being greedy, but I feel like we just didn’t get enough.

I love how Spring Break has this underlying theme that both Garrison's and Randy's partners help them being better versions of themselves.

I think my favourite thing about this come back is the approach to having smaller arc's. I think a lot of people are sick of tegridy/think its overstayed its welcome but i think cartman's hotdog arc was just the right length. It was funny had got a good few laugh's but ultimately didn't drag on/completely over stay it's welcome. I hope that they do more mini arc's like that for other characters and continue experimenting with the status quo

i thought having an andrew-tate-like character without calling him andrew tate was a great idea mainly because it doesn't help platform or give him any more attention, followers, etc. but anyone who knows who they're referencing can still be in on the joke

Great season! I'm really glad Kyle let them release it.

My one issue with Dickinbaus is that one of Cartmans like, 2 positive character traits is hes really, really good at being a manager. He was very effective running a Parental Revenge Center, he ran a effective burger store with Kyle that one time. He's pretty good at organizing the kids to do stupid shit, Cartmans really good at getting stuff done as long as he actually wants to do it. Dickinbaus is like the one time he was absolutely useless at running a business. Normally hed have made a million and lost it all over some weird plot point about Kosher hotdogs and not being willing to hire a rabbi or something weird.
  • I think the Andrew Tate "copout" (rename, w/e) is because he technically hasn't been convicted, so it might be legally irresponsible to put it directly in the episode.

This was a brilliant way to put all your thoughts together and reusing the breakdowns in this way doesn’t feel like a “compilation of videos.” Keep up the great work dude!

I think the funniest thing about trump is that he actually exists in south park, but since garrison was president, that means trump is just looking at garrison's campaign and is like, "something doesn't feel right..."

Toilet paper is made mostly from excess pulp that gets made from the sawdust and branches that timber companies don’t use. We cut down trees pretty much ONLY for timber. There is enough sawdust and other plants to make paper out of, visit a paper plant.
