"Cloud, you are my living legacy." What an absolute legend.

2024, and i still haven't emotionally recovered from "Cloud, you are my living legacy" only to learn Cloud doesn't end up remembering him until later in the game. Crisis Core was the first game I ever played and haven't really picked up another game since.

This Girl... she said that the sky frightened her... That looks so... liberating. Those wings... I want them too...
  • "Hey, would you say I became a hero?". The best one dear Zack!

I remember Crisis Core was my first FF game. I got stuck (mainly cuz I didn't know English at the time) at building Aerith's flower wagon and didn't know what else to do, so I stopped playing it When I became older and knew Youtube had the rest of the game only to find out his tragic end was... 🤧 Zack has gotta be my favorite FF protagonist

This shit HURTED, SO MUCH. I didn't expect to cry much if at all seeing this ending, especially after seeing Remake's ending. But holy shit, Nomura knows how to tear at the heartstrings. It's even more effective when you consider that a LOT of your battles throughout the game are against escaped experiments or Genesis or Angeal monster clones, and now you're in their same shoes, being hunted down by your previous colleagues, some of which you may have even been friends with like Kunsel or Luxiere. The Angeal dog that appears in the slums church to guard Aerith and then later defends Lazard and Cloud while Zack fights Genesis beneath Banora further ties into this, that monster had thoughts and feelings and a purpose, same as the other monsters you've been slicing open, burning, and freezing all game, same as Zack. The story makes a point to bring up what divides humans from monsters- Sephiroth became a monster through his actions, Zack and Cloud became monsters due to their circumstances and how they were portrayed by Shinra, Genesis became a monster by choice to try to re-enact LOVELESS as a prophecy. Seeing Angeal appear to Zack to take him to the Lifestream, represented as an ascent to Heaven, oh my God that shit broke me. Angeal is the only major player in Crisis Core to become an angel instead of a monster.

I don’t cry easily…but this ending made me cry like a baby. “Those wings….i want them too.”

Sometimes the best thing about having one wing.. is you fly in circles. True Genesis quote.

Why as in why don't they have this in the Crisis Core OST on Spotify

Yes Zack, you became a hero. You will always be a hero in our eyes
  • People might say Angeal was a bland character but for me he is like the brother I never had. I cried thug tears when Zack struck him down.

Listening to this while working out gives me strength
