It's been almost 3 years since the release of The Patrick Star Show, which I was incredibly critical towards back when I reviewed it in my SpongeBob Spin-Off's video from 2022, and so with people claiming it's since gotten better I figured it would be a good time to re-visit it to find out; Did The Patrick Star Show FINALLY Get Good?

We went from Doug Walker being referenced in SpongeBob to him actually being in Smiling Friends, what a truly insane world we live in

The fact it was the freaking Patrick Star Show to become a sort of oasis for a specific breed of animation talent (old and new) in the current state of Hollywood entertainment is definitely not something I would've expected when the show was new, but I'm so very grateful that it has.

I’m just still trying to process the fact that the freaking Nostalgia critic was referenced in a SpongeBob show, that’s something you’d never would expect back then.
  • You seriously got Füm as a sponsor for a Patrick Star Show video. Does that mean Chüm is Füm?…oh apparently so
  • @fryguy9704
The Patrick show is the definition of adhd. But it has something about it that can sometimes make you say “hey, I kinda sort of enjoyed to an extent”
  • There's still time to apologize to Uncle Grampa everybody! I'm just saying...
  • The cut to square and triangle shaped graves with SpongeBob and Patrick landing safely on them made me laugh harder than it should've. Idk i knew it was coming, but it just got me. I'd almost say that's the kind of joke SpongeBob would've told in its pre-movie era
  • ngl, i hope the show does well. i can tell the writers behind it arent soulless hollywood cash cows but actually care about the cartoon.
  • Kamp Koral was actually cancelled, and the second season will be its last. I blame this on it being locked to Paramount+.
  • while i think the "neckbeard internet nerd as a surrogate for online criticism of the show" joke has been done to death (simpsons and animaniacs were doing it in the 90s), I love the way they went about it with Bubble Bass. Its very well observed down to the minute details like him drawing himself way skinnier and cooler and the MS Movie Maker editing. He may have been designed to look like Nostalgia Critic but i just KNOW they were thinking about Phantomstrider and Mr enter.
  • I'm honestly kind of having even more fun with The Patrick Star Show than I was with SpongeBob season 13-...era. I don't know,I feel like on the Patrick Star Show they take more risks with stories, themes and concepts compared to the post-resurgence era of the show. Although there are a lot of stinky episodes here and there, but there are some underrated gems which I think are worth a visit.(like Bubble Bass Reviews.)
  • Well, you can say what you want about this show, but you can't deny it's 10 times more fun and wholesome to watch than Planet Sheen and the Cleveland show.kkkkk
  • I think American Dad has a pretty good first episode. The way everything is introduced is pretty well set up and each of the characters have their moments to stand out. It does a good job of not just being family guy 2.

i clicked on the notification for this thinking it was a short but no it’s a full ls mark video

That's pretty much in my opinion why I feel The Patrick Show succeeded where Kamp Koral failed. It took a bit but it managed to cut itself a niche that not necessary can be found 100% inside regular Spongebob and does it as a way to really stretch it wings regardless is it works or fails. I have said it before but NOTHING in Kamp Koral felt like it couldn't be done in the main show because the concept of "Cartoon IP but now kids" is suppose to allow stuff to happen that couldn't work before because of the character's age...something that doesn't work with Spongebob because he is an adult that acts like a child, allowing him be put in scenarios that appeal to any age. Meanwhile Patrick Show was, ironically enough, smarter in its approach. Knowing the humor could still be something you maybe could still get out of regular Spongebob, it decided to switch its FORMAT giving us a way of how the show is presented that does change from its source material. "Fraiser may have Cheers's DNA but as a show itself Fraiser is NOT Cheers" The Patrick Show almost feels like a variety/skit show now which works for introducing ideas rapidly without needing for much structure. For me it feels like some sort of "Spongebob Sample Testing": A plate of different bite sized sales of food for one to nibble on. Some you may like, some you may find taste, but all arr just sampling and so it doesn't take too much of your time. Meanwhile, main spongebob works as the actually fully prepared meal, where you commit to eat the plate rather than just taste test, and so the two can co-exist without much issue.

The fact that they made Bubble bass look like the Nostalgia Critic in the s1 finally is so damn funny

the stop motion looks almost exactly like that one christmas special they made a decade ago, love it for that
