  • I started using Nivea 33 years ago when I had this huge wrinkle line down my face from sleeping on only one side. The line down my face went away after a couple months. I use this every day and every night and even under my make-up. Proud to say I look 20 years younger than most 63 year women thanks to NIVEA. đŸŒ»đŸ˜ŽđŸŒ»

My dearest dad who passed away in 2019 swore by the original nivea his whole life (the original made in Germany). He always looks younger than his years. I finally picked up a tin and and love it already. Miss you baba. đŸ™â€ïž

Licensed Esthtetician here: Based on the ingredient deck, and the seaweed component in the LaMer, is a form of lactic acid. Lactic acid, in itself helps exfoliate the skin, soothes the skin, and can help with rosacea. If you want the benefits of the LaMer, but with a much better price point, you could add a lactic acid serum, or peel pad to you routine, and stick with the Nivea for moisture. Also an FYI, LaMer is owned by Estée Lauder, and Nivea owns La Praire.
  • I’m a portrait photographer for over 20 years and the light set up makes a world of difference. The Nivea side was a much harsher light.😂

I’m over 65. Been using la mer for years and years. I don’t do anything else to my face except moisturize every other day after showering. I know,i know. I don’t have wrinkles and I get compliments on my skin ,even without makeup. A small jar lasts me about 5-6 months. The younger you start, the better you’ll look in your old age !

The La Mer side looks lifted, tighter and smoother. Can definitely see the difference right away. I watched Mixed Makeup video comparing the 2 and she said as moisturizers they are similar. So we could add a fermented bifida serum under Nivea for a similar skin treatment. I use Isntree TW-Real Bifida Ampoule and it’s fantastic. And I have a thick moisturizer Serious Skincare Lock & Bond. Very similar in consistency to Nivea. Great video 🎉 thanks for sharing! La Mer has given you undeniable results ❀

(I have been working w La Mer for a few yrs).La Mer has different versions of their creme. The original creme IS suggested for dry to very dry skin. They have a (soft creme) which is much lighter and doesn't require you warm it up with your hands. They recommend the soft creme for normal and combo skins. They also offer a lotion in a pump, which is for combo/oily skins. And lastly, they have a mattifying gel for oily to very oily skins. So everyone has 4 choices. All 4 versions contain the same active seaweed (broth) complex that La Mer is known for, which helps heal and protect the skin. The only difference in the 4 cremes/lotions is the texture to help give the user, their preferred texture based on their skin type and what they like to use. If you don't like the original, you have 3 other options that can still give you the results! Enjoy!

I have used both of these creams for 10 years. La Mer on my face and Nivea on my arms and legs. I’m 71 years old and when I tell people how old I am they’re shocked and respond that they thought I was in my 40s or 50s I use the whole La Mer line and always look for it on sale. Anyone that says it is just hype has never used the La Mer product.
  • I use the Nivea cream from Germany. It’s amazing yet so simple. This cream has healed my skin. It got rid of my exema.
  • @shansolos
I use le mer and it is amazing! It's my best friend an other beauty tip is 'irish moss' put a spoonful of that in your daily smoothie or juice and you'll notice results. Seaweed and fish are so good for anti-aging.

Actually, paraffinum liquidum is just another name for mineral oil, petrolatum and petrolatum based ingredients you can find in La mer. When buying the La mer cream you are getting a vaseline based cream for the price of a professional procedure (or even a few of them) in a cosmetologist's office
  • my Mother was from Switzerland, and she wore Nivea everyday of her life, she had no wrinkles when she passed away, now I am almost 70 and I have been using Nivea too, I have only a very few wrinkles, I love Nivea, and have never wore face makeup
  • Thank you for putting in the time to try this out. I also recommend to everyone to buy your La mer directly from La mer! I purchased a pot from sephora during a sale and it gave me irritation and the smell was off. It turned out the batch was old and probably not stored properly UGH!! I contacted La mer directly to complain about my sephora experience and they offered me a full refund even though my purchase was not through them! They stand by their products. And that’s important to me.

What I noticed is that the lighting and the shadows are different in most of your pictures, which favor La Mer and not Nivea, plus not all creams are for everyone. I've used all kinds of creams in my life and stopped using Nivea to follow trends, and I regret doing that because my skin changed for the worst. Now that I'm back using Nivea, my skin is getting better, and many of my wrinkles are disappearing!! So, for the people watching this video, don't jump, and buy an extremely expensive cream, before trying Nivea from Germany first, I bet you won't regret it and save your money!!
  • Petrolatum isn’t bad. It is a healing ingredient in as it seals in the moisture and keeps out the germs, stop evaporation and used water on burns or incisions to keep them germ free.
  • Hey there! Esthetician speaking. Given the redness in your cheeks I would ditch both of these moisturizers given their fragrant compounds. The eucalyptus oil in la mer can flare redness for sure.
  • @msk-qp6fn
Some brand just needs to ferment seaweed properly and mix it up with nivea/vaseline. Fermented seaweed is honestly the only signiticant difference between la mer and othet seaweed products.
  • Nivea side looks brighter! I've been using it now for a couple weeks, and I absolutely love it, pores seem smaller, skin is super soft, and my redness has gone down quite a bit. Thanks for this video!

There are much cheaper creams with algae or similar in . Elemis pro-collagen marine cream isn't cheap as Nivea, but is much more affordable than Le Mer. I'm 62 with virtually no wrinkles . I used Liz Earle from age 39-55 and I've been using Elemis and Murad for the last almost 8.
