The head of the US Secret Service will be grilled in Congress on Monday amid calls for her resignation, after Donald Trump said that nobody warned him not to go on stage ahead of the assassination attempt.

Kimberly Cheatle will appear before the House oversight committee as her agency admitted at the weekend that it had rebutted repeated calls from the Trump campaign over the last two years for extra protection.
