In the end this became a tribute both to Death Battle and Toriyama himself. May their legacy live on forever, and may Goku and Superman continue to inspire the kids of tomorrow.

Like the ending of GT, there’s no dragon balls to wish on here, just the memories and hard work that beautiful man left behind. He always had to go eventually, and who knows where he is now. But even if you can’t see him anymore, even if you’ve grown up, you know he’ll still be there, motivating you to surpass your limits. Rest in peace, Toriyama. See ya 🫡

no matter the outcome, goku and supes not being mean to each other + that wholesome ending is the kind of characterization missing from their previous fight and it's highly appreciated
