  • Did it with a hose from a vacuum. Sucked them suckers up SO fast. I then baking soda vinegar cleaned drains and covered all water sources including toilet lids and sink/shower holes. Sprayed out the dishwasher with vinegar then Lysol wiped surfaces and it was a one two punch and done situations and very little time besides simple wiping even in the fridge I used baking soda and vinegar then cleaned the surfaces with sanitizer and dried them well before closing up the fridge. But no kill is coolest if you can use panty hose and a vacuum or something like that to temporarily trap and release it’s a hack I’ve tried out of “sheer necessity” 😅 It can simply come down to how many lil dudes ya got due to what have you’s n such and give it your whole heart❤ Much love! Great video!

Slice of lemon in small cups woth saran wrap across top, poke holes, after several have gone in trap, pop in microwave for 30 seconds. It kills them and makes your kitchen smell lemony fresh
  • I live in Florida and I know all this but every year I come back and watch videos on how to trap themselves
  • I have used this particular method as well as to get rid of fruit flies, so far I did manage to catch two fruit flies in my living room. I have made some more of it and put in the kitchen as well as the bathroom plus put one in my trash bin 🗑️.I will continue monitoring if there is any more fruit flies getting caught by this situation.
  • The dish detergent reduces the surface tension on the liquid inside the trap and makes them sink better than just plain vinegar alone. I had them about 2 years ago.
  • We are battling them now thanks to 1 rotten banana.... thanks for the info.... and oh....I tried three times to squish that first fruit fly on my computer screen before realizing it was on the video.... lol....now how to get rid of those no see ums on the back porch.... didn't have them last year they just showed up here in Pace about a week ago....thank goodness we have a big outdoor wall fan over our Coleman 5 & dime hot tub on porch (thanks to you for that too, best 500 bucks we've spent in a while!

People that leave fruit in the kitchen get fruit flies and people that grow plants near a window get gnats. They are two different insects. Vinegar, soap and water works great on fruit flies for me.😃

this looks good , as he mentioned getting rid of the food source is the best thing to do , that could be any thing from standing sink water , to rotten potatoes, fruit etc , empty beer/wine bottles, or jam on your counter. they don't need much food to keep multiplying. gl

in my experience if you have gnats its because you havent looked hard enough and found the problem. been chasing gnats for a week this time and found where the kids had put a bag of potatoes in the bottom of pantry where we keep the plasgtic bags from groceries and had been there for a while. got rid of the old fruit and got rid of the gnats

Ive tried a similar method in the past and while the traps worked, it seemed as if the infestation grew. Did i do something wrong?
  • @walkerangela100
This does work very well, the problem we have also is finding the source because we keep everything put up and we even rinse out any containers or cans that go in the trash to try to remove any food or juice. But we live in an apartment building with a total of 8 and I believe some are coming through the drain pipes. I will try the idea of putting the vinegar down the drain and I think I'll also start closing the when not in use. Thanks for the video and the ideas😊
  • @ozan4702
I put flashlight at the bottom of the trap it attracts flies even better.
  • Thank Mr. Going to try the baking pan. Putting a sign up Saying there's a party tonight. Bring all you fruitflys friends.
  • @taylorm2210
Do i mix the vinegar and the soap or do i just pour it in the cup
  • @davidlocke3489
My problem is I can't find the source. All fruits and veggies go in the fridge and the garbage goes out. I'm not infested like your home but every day I see a few flying around. The traps are set. Wish me luck.
