LYRICS:

You know I like my chicken fried
And cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I was raised underneath the shade of a Georgia pine
And that's home you know
Sweet tea, pecan pie, and homemade wine
Where the peaches grow
And my house it's not much to talk about
But it's filled with love that's grown in southern ground
And a little bit of chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
I like to see the sunrise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive or the price tag on your clothes
There's no dollar sign on a peace of mind, this I've come to know
So if you agree have a drink with me
Raise your glasses for a toast
To a little bit of chicken fried
And cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
I like to see the sunrise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love
I thank God for my life
And for the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly, let it ring
Salute the ones who died
The ones that give their lives so we don't have to sacrifice
All the things we love
Like our chicken fried
And cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
I like to see the sunrise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love
Get your little chicken fried
And cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
I like to see the sunrise
See the love in my woman's eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother's love

This song helped me through Afghanistan, playing it everynight to remind me of home, to get my mind off all the firefights. Much love for the zac brown band!

About 6 or 7 years ago, a local solider from here, in North East Ohio, was killed in action over in Iraq. This was his favorite song, so his brother called into the morning show (Rover's Morning Glory) 100.7 WMMS, a rock station, and asked if they would play this song to honor him. The next morning they played the song over and over for the entire duration of show, (over 4 hours) only stopping to take calls from people sharing stories of loved ones fighting in the military, and honoring this young solider who lost his life. It was very moving.

Our 46yr old son passed 6-21-21, He Loved ZAC BROWN and went to his concerts whenever he could. The ZAC Brown band donated over 200 hats to his Celebraion of life.

  • Wow, what a nice song. I hope this song doesn't get used in a commercial that play during a war conflict.

Heard this for the first time on my first trip to America back in October, obviously I’m not even American but it still fills me with pride. Love our American cousins from the UK 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇸

My daddy dedicated his life for 20 years on paper to the military, but it never leaves. And doesnt just end at the retirement. Years later, he is still battling ptsd and acclimate to civilian living. It wasnt justb daddy in the service, the whole family was in. We went through it with him when he wasnt on base or on a boat. He is my hero.

  • I was born in Mexico and when I came to America, I got the opportunity to become a citizen of this great country! It is an honor! And this song is so good, love and respect to our men and women who are serving!

This song has been out for over 15 years apparently and I’ve always known of it but all of sudden can’t stop listening to it. 😂 I’ll never understand people who only listen to new stuff. There’s so many awesome songs out there it would be impossible to catch them all when they’re new.
  • @PapaWoody69
"I thank god for my life and for the stars and stripes may freedom forever fly let it ring" 💯🇺🇲
  • I'll be completely honest, I used to not be a big fan of this song. But recently my life has taken a huge change in course. I enlisted in the military, and three months ago I was living with my family and the love of my life, but today here I am with sand under my boots and haven't felt the warmth of my woman's hugs since the day I stepped into the bus. this lifestyle makes you see things much differently, and you begin to see the significance of the little things you used to have. the message in this song stands out to me and brings tears to my eyes and a smile to my face every time I hear it now, because everything in it is something I miss greatly. being there for my mama my woman and my little brother every day was taken for granted, but I know this is best. God bless you all, and I hope you have a great day. Make the most out of everything, no matter how small it may seem.
