SCARFACE DEEP DIVE REVIEW
y Franck (one half of James S.A. Corey) and Wes Chatham ('Amos Burton' on The Expanse) discuss one of the most wild movies of the 80s Scarface. From crazy accents to just about a crazy amount of people wearing fake makeup to play Cubans... and of course mountains of coke!

Can you guys PLEASE never stop? Love every minute of your shows.

I, for one, welcome the new Mustache Wes era.

Love the comparison of Cubans like Tony to Belters. In fact, I think Ty and Daniel should pull an "Outland" and write a screenplay for a Belter version of "Scarface"; where it follows a Belter who rises to power after arriving at Pallas from escaping Eros and making his bones in the beltwide drug trade. And speaking of Sidney Lumet, still waiting on you two doing a deep dive on either "Twelve Angry Men" or "Dog Day Afternoon".

Great opening quote and intro! I am laughing out loud Wes' comments. Wes and Ty discussing the deeper message and meaning of Scarface! What a treatise! I really enjoyed this. Thanks for another entertaining hour. This is why I tune in each week and look forward to see this! Thanks guys!

There are so many violent films I never watched but now understand better than most of the guys I know because I watch Ty and That Guy. And some of them I am finally able to watch after you guys contextualize the violence for me. Thanks again!

I hope there's a 'tache on Captain Enoch in the next episode. You guys have been knocking them out of the park for fun recently. Another great show. Thanks guys.

A big surprise, Wes likes Vangelis Never thought that would happen.
  • I’m surprised you didn’t mention the hit man in the car the Tony kills was Hector Salamanca from BB. I would have thought his face would …ring a bell..

Have to really agree with Ty on Pacino handsomeness at its peak in G2. Pacino looked way way better in the early 1970's and his hair and his clothing in G2 was well chosen. On the other hand, can we agree that Wes' taste in men's sexiness is very questionable after hearing him say Pacino looked great in this film?? When is Pacino NOT covered in sweat in it? Scarface is the Showgirls of the Gangster Crime film genre and there's just no way of getting around that. On a side note, Robert Loggia is always amazing as the bad guy. Dude was born to play stylish thugs. Check him out in his appearances on the original Charlie's Angels TV series and David Lynch's Lost Highway.

Another great episode. That moustache is rotten on the inside. Looks like Farva from super troopers. Or Henry Cavell from mission impossible. No in between.

Pacino was hot in sea of love. He was also smoking in Heat. I see what wes means by Tony's looks in scarface.
  • @GrumpyWizard
I’ll suggest that peak Pacino handsomeness was Serpico.
  • @dooseKon
    That’s a good working man’s stache.
