I must say, out of all the portrayals of Captain Kidd I've seen, Laughton's was probably the most realistic of all them, this being because they really got into character back then, so much you'd sworn they walked right out of the Golden Age Of Piracy!

Interesting film with some famous actors. But Charles Laughton steals the show. Excellent colour.
