Thanks for this video. I was a cadaver dog handler in Iraq for three years. Have you considered doing a video of female spies in WWII. Virginia Hall had a wooden leg and still did crazy cool things. They were given speed to stay awake for missions and it messed up their health in later years.

Rags wasn't a pet, HE was a soldier. A brave soldier. But for different reasons.
  • @AkaiOtinashi
Saving Private Rags needs to be made immediatly. I would cry the entire movie but I'm here for it.

"the birds are chirping, flowers are blooming, and everything is on fire because the second world war is just raging" i love bailey
  • @Emrose93
I just put a purple poppy on my bag to remember the animals for Nov 11, and now this pops up! I love it. So nice to see our animal heroes are being recognised.
  • As a Pole🇵🇱, I would like to thank you very much for presenting the story about Wojtek the bear. I'm grateful and impressed that you present not only criminal mysteries but also stories from World War II, etc., and this time our Polish one. This story is incredible, as are many Polish heroes of World War II, for example: Witold Pilecki - he voluntarily allowed himself to be captured during a round-up in Warsaw's Żoliborz district. In this way, Pilecki planned to get to Auschwitz to carry out a special mission assigned to him by the Polish Underground State - to prepare a report on the situation in the concentration camp and organize a resistance movement there. 🇵🇱🙏🏻❤️

Sometimes we don’t deserve animals/pets , but they continue being our hero’s 🥲
  • @catmitchell3200
There's a memorial to the Polish people and the bear in Edinburgh. These stories are so important and shouldn't be forgotten!

My grandad was the owner of Anita, the first European dog to be awarded the Dicken medal for bravery in WW2. He was a true hero and truly man’s best friend. Flying in the Lancaster bomber planes as they dropped bombs on the Nazis. We will never forget the four pawed hero’s.
  • @jenniefrmthebloc
Yay! Finally someone talking about our four-legged heroes.🐾🥰

We appreciate Bailey's dedication and commitment. We wish her nothing but the absolute best.

I hope you do a second episode about animal war heroes. One of my favorites is Sgt Reckless - she was a horse that carried artillery back and forth to front line in the Korean War, unassisted, despite having been injured in the line of duty. Twice.
  • given that Poland had really been, ya know, through some ish by the end of the war, our beloved bear friend retired in Scotland where he could be cared for and visited by his Polish human friends. There's a statue of him in Edinburgh so if you ever see a big bear sculpture in the park along the city centre there, that's him.
  • @blueeyedscorpio7
Wondering why none of these animal heros don't have a movie about them already!? 🤷🏼‍♀️🤔😟
  • @amandaKwall
I would love to see a dark history of child care/child care items. Like the window cages and other “helpful” parent habits of the times.
  • @lilybug45382
my granpa was in the marines and worked with sergeant reckless, a pack horse who would help transport supplies and lived on the camp with them, he named his newest dog rex after the horse 😭
  • @TheFlyingUrayuli
I was hoping Sergeant Bill was going to be a Canadian goose. Those cobra chickens are mean as they come, so I woulda absolutely believed Bill coulda been a bad boy/hero goose. Heck, if Bill was a goose, he probably would have made General before the war was out. But hats off nonetheless to a true Canadian hero, Sergeant Billy Goat! 🇨🇦
  • @JuliaKazz
My best friend is a veteran and the dog assigned to their unit saved his life. He dragged him after he got shot shot twice to safety. He (the dog) was awarded a medal of honor (I'm not quite sure what the term is) afterwards. True story! Animals are amazing
  • I'm doing a Remembrance Day service here in England and just wrote a prayer about animals in war so thank you for doing this. Purple poppy for me this year!
  • @adriana27100
So many horses fought in war… always breaks my heart ❤️
