4:40 the “turned on my friends and brought them pain, I have no right to show I can change but I gotta try to toss my sins aside” HIT me like a brick that was phenomenal
  • Magolor explaining to Kirby how he killed a biblically accurate tree and then sold pay-to-win microtransaction apples in an alternate dimension to come back to his original dimension:

Fun fact! In an interview, the Kirby devs said that they gave Magolor's outfit yellow coloring because yellow is associated with betrayal thanks to Judas--yes, THAT Judas. And in the epilogue, Magolor goes on a journey of potential penance as he collects slices of an apple which is implied to be a stand-in for the apple of Eden. So not only do we have Norse connotations in the form of Mistilteinn, we have Christian connotations--both in a KIRBY GAME. God, I love this series.
  • Im in love the idea that Magolor killed the tree devil and then sold its fruit out of pure spite. He crawled out of hell to sell pieces of the devil for a spin off game.

You know I love to think Magalore looked over at the sword and thought "eh worked last time worth a shot" while remembering Kirby beating the crap outta him

I like how you can incorporate remorseful / vengeful versions of some of the lyrics from your Crowned cover. I also like how emotional the lyrics get with Magolor facing the personification of his past mistakes. I especially like how Magolor has a constant vibe of “I don’t deserve forgiveness for what I’ve done, but I still have to set things right.”

Mistilteinn (Translating as Mistltoe) is a legendary sword in Icelandic/Scandinavian mythology. it originated as a celtic sword from Gaul, and the King who used it became a Zombie who attempted a conquest of Norway before being slain by Folk hero/Viking legend Hrómundr, who then used it as his sword throughout his Sagas. It’s also important to note that the swords name Translates to Mistletoe, and a actual Mistletoe branch was also used by the magical trickster God Loki when he betrayed Baldr in Viking mythology. What I’m saying is it’s probably intentional that the Kirby devs gave Magolor, the Betrayer and trickster who survives death, a mighty sword with connections to both the afterlife and Loki.
  • Something I love about this cover is the lyrics and how Magolor views himself. He isn’t blaming the Crown for everything that happened. Magolor knows that this was all his fault, he brought this upon himself, and now it’s up to him to face penance to have any chance at redemption. He must destroy the Crown to ensure no one else becomes greedy and has their soul destroyed as a result.

"Join my sins, BURN AND DIE' such a powerful sentence

5:27 JUNO HAS THE RANGE, THAT WAS RAW EMOTION RIGHT THERE

2:31 I legit started to tear up at this bit. Magolor comes face to face with the monster that drove him to betray his friends for power and he has the balls to say THIS straight to its face. I love this little mischievous egg.
  • Since other people are calling out references to CROWNED in the lyrics, here's one that they haven't gotten yet: 1:25 "silence the calling of the void, so no more souls can be destroyed" Reference to "I hear the calling of the void My body numb my soul destroyed"
  • Magolor may be just an egg, but that's OK. Because that just means he's cracked.
  • What a journey Magolor’s been on. He befriended Kirby and tricked him into helping him get the Master Crown. He gained immense power, but the darkness in his heart grew. Then the crown took over his mind and body, making him realize the errors of his ways. Then he got really hyped up on caffeine, but don’t think that’s canon. And now he’s atoning for his sins by defeating both the crown and the darkness in his heart and returning to the light. And then of course he became Microtransactionlor. Edit: Thanks for all the likes, and for pointing out typos I made, fixed those.
  • I'm sorry but Magolor calling the Master Crown "tyrannical tiara" is quite possibly the most RUTHLESS insult and I will always use it
  • @min_is_mini
OKAY THIS WAS RAW AS FUCK OH MY GOD??? tree crown without a ruler is up there as one of my favorite final boss themes of all time, and when i saw the premiere for this i was SO excited to see you cover it, and you somehow did it more justice than i expected, and those expectations were HIGH i got genuine goosebumps listening to this- i have not had that feeling while watching a video in a while...
  • @TEBArceus
Hmm. Y’know, I’m starting to think that maayyybe that was the crown’s true aim-
  • Settling a score, verse 2: IN MY GREED I BROUGHT ONLY PAIN MY FINAL HOPE WON'T BE IN VAIN NOW I GOTTA TRY TO FIGHT THE DEMONS ASIDE I will not succumb to this fate Nor will I practice self-hate I'M THE MASTER OF MY SOUL YOU CAN'T CONTROL ME I'VE PAYED OUT MY TOLL In my soul a light time to set things right I will stand and fight attack against the night I'll end the sinful flame WITH POWER NOW UNDER MY CONTROL I won't.. just give in move on, 'til I win! I'm now annoyed I'll return... to the land HERE I AM AND HERE I STAND... TEAR THE MISTLETOE OFF OF THE TREE AND SET THE SEED OF REDEMPTION FREE!
  • lets all agree that "biblically accurate whispy woods" is now the tree's new name
  • The lines “burn and die” and “you can’t control me, I’ve paid out my toll” hits different frfr
