I’m loving the consistency in uploads from you. Just please don’t overexert yourself, you’re one of the better elder scrolls uploaders on YouTube and we’d like to have you around for a while

After all those years, I still remember that on the XBox 360, not handing in the Umbra sword to the Daedric shrine let to the console freezing. During my pipsquek days, I wasn't sure if this was the intented 'punishment' for disobedience. Nostalgia (for simpler times).

Ah, Umbra. My favorite weapon in the game! I never turn it in. Once I pick it up, it stays with me indefinitely
-
YES I love when Umbriel from the Infernal City + Lord of Souls books are mentioned! Very under appreciated books. I own both :)

Also, (saying this before watching) Todd Howard voiced Clavicus btw apparently he was supposed to be a place holder and they kept him in 😂

[ Trade offer ] I receive: arguably the best sword in the game You receive: a cool looking mask lmao
-
"It is a 50 pound sword..." Meanwhile Goldbrand in your inventory with 52 pounds: "Am I a joke to you?"
-
My fav quest in Oblivion. I love the look of the Armor and I enjoyed roleplaying as the new avatar of Umbra.

There is actually a little conspiracy theory about Clavicus Vile that I quite like. In how the tale about the origins of the Umbra sword, being a lie. And that the truth is far, far darker. The theory goes that the witch that created Umbra, never actually existed, but that it was Clavicus Vile instead. Clavicus vile then approached an invididual named Umbra, who was a victim of a cruel lord murdering his or her parents. Clavicus offered Umbra the choice for revenge, at the cost of their soul. Umbra accepted, and then got transformed into the sword we know now. There it was picked up by Lenwin, whose personality slowly got corrupted and partially consumed by the blade in order to take her as a host for the new personality that is "Umbra". The reason why this theory exists is because it makes Clavicus Vile be the equivalent of Mephistopheles from Faust, where it offers faust a bargain; to receive their dreams come true, at the cost of their soul. Something very in line with the Daedric Prince of deals, Clavicus Vile.

NEVER STOP POSTING <3

I paused the quest and returned when it was broken and useless the weight stayed at zero. It works really good with Azura's star. I sold the mask thinking it would just piss him off more on purpose.

Love your channel Bard! If I recall correctly Umbra plays an important role in the books "The Infernal City" and "Lord of Souls". Might be worth a read. Definitely would fit your other channel as a bed time story.

I’ve been binging your videos, I’m running out!

I love your channel, my new favorite Elder Scrolls channel. Maybe in the future you could do Morrowind lore vids

The umbra quests are always great. The sword just screams bad idea but always has such tempting stats, I get why Vile wants it lol. It's a shame the expanded lore doesn't show up in the games, a floating city would be a cool ass dungeon. Are you planning to do the Mehrunes Razor quest soon? It's one of my favorite mini dlcs, all sorts of fun little details

Amazing consistency and high quality vids

Love to see you’re vidéo every time ❤

Boy you're just pumping out these videos

Hope Umbra returns in ES6

The Umbra in Skyrim is from creation Club. I dont consider that canon. The Mod by RonnieMagnum is better in that you get a 1 handed and 2 handed version and the owner of the blade made a journal to try to keep his mind. There's callbacks in it to Morrowind and Oblivion where his dreams after picking up Umbra gave him the determination to set out to Skyrim. And the final entry is him remembering his name and stating that Your character is now Umbra.
