The marketing behind Beats By Dre was absolutely incredible. That's the end of it.
  • @videogames
Every single beats by Dre headphone set I've bought over the years have died just shortly after the warranty expired. They look cool, sound great, built to break down after time. Stick with Sennheiser, JBL, or Sony...

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
  • Bose: Great ANC one of the best in fact, great technology for a right price. Sony: Become best ANC headphones and high quality sound. Sennheiser: Best audiophile headphones in the world, best sound headphones by miles. Audio Technica: Best affordable headphones. Beats: by Dre.

A combination of perfect timing and great marketing. Other than that the product is crap and cheaply made. I've gone through two of them.

When there are big brands like Sony, Sennheiser, Bose, and Shure, for whom Audio Quality matters much more than looks, why do people purchase these over-rated piece of crap?
  • Hype culture is steep to the top, and after substitute product appear, it steep dive to the bottom. It's a short term profit not so much for long term.

Beats are so over rated at this price point. There at countless other brands with decades of experience and better enternals in this space. Do your research before you just want to look cool.

Actual cost of making one beats headphone is around $20 dollar. But they selling it around $300 dollar
  • @ViaticalTree
They acted like there were no good headphones at the time. That’s ridiculous.

Beats were made with crappy plastic at first but for Hip Hop fans the bass was amazing, there wasn't anything else out like it at the time. After Apple bought Beats the quality improved tenfold too. When it comes to audiophiles, they are in a different realm, they use special equipment and amplifies, record players and records, etc etc. Beats made it possible for non audiophiles to get good quality headphones for digital usage. People say other companies were making good headphones at the time but I remember wasting money on new headphones from other companies every couple months. Maybe I just wasn't trying out the high end models but I had tried so many pairs and they didn't come close to the bass on the beast. I think people are just butt heart and try to make Beats out to be a bad company. Plus, no other companies had headphones with removable cables (except studio monitor headphones), and for people travelling, it made them last longer in that regard. The cable was always the first thing to go on headphones back in the day. This functionality was crucial in my opinion and the RED cable was genius.

  • @TechCryptoNow
great video! Do people still buy Beats by Dre? Mid 2010's they were the thing, but now... not so much
  • @ambycakes
I had a pair years ago and they were great. I hooked them up to my FX processor and they did well for playing guitar. I had them for about 6 years. I don't care about the hype. I cared rust they were functional at the time for what I needed.
  • @0201manny
Let's get one thing straight. Beats are not premium in terms of sound quality.
  • @phile5437
They became a multi billion dollar company by selling overpriced headphones to idiots.
