I love how this story arc allowed Zelda some short time with what basically are the supportive parents she never had. Very powerful stuff
  • I just realized that Zelda's whole life was just tragedy, she lost her mother, she lost Terrako, she lost her champion friends, she lost her father, she lost her childhood training to wake up her power and she failed several times, she almost lost Link, she lost 100 years of her life fighting to keep Hyrule safe, lost her second foster family and turned into a dragon wandering for thousands of years in Hyrule watching (unconsciously) Hyrule rise and fall again

"Remember this name" I cannot remember the last time a video game gave me goosebumps all over, then the absolute emotions when the theme song plays, this game is a masterpiece.

Hearing them how they want to meet Link, reminds me of the parents way to encourage their kid to bring home their new boyfriend or girlfriend to meet.

All the cutscenes look phenomenal but whoever animated Ganons face here is a criminal 💀 23:53
  • 39:48 is probably one of the best moments in my opinion. Just Ganon/king Raru saying Link's name with a slowed down version of the legend of Zelda theme playing in background is just mwah chef's kiss Gave me major chills.
  • So everyone calls the timeline into question here. But i personally think that hyrule has been destroyed and rebuilt so often over the course of history that Rauru and Sonia were simply the founders of this current iteration of Hyrule and its the beginning of its own history, they found the current hyrule, the imprisoning war occurs, Ganondorf is sealed, time passes, the war against Calamity Ganon occurs, the Sheika build the Divine beasts and ancient technology, they defeated Ganon at the time and 10,000 years later he awakens again and Breath of the Wild occurs, he gets beat and then Tears of the Kingdom happens

I think what's especially sweet is how much this is basically a do-over for Zelda, at least when it comes to her childhood. While shit might have gone to hell in the end, this is probably the first time that this Zelda's had a pair of loving and caring people as essentially her parental substitutes. Rauru, Sonia and Mineru don't pressure her into doing something she doesn't know how to do, they treat her with kindness and compassion and help her figure out how to use her powers, and any moments where they disagree (Mineru about the draconification thing), it's clearly out of worry and concern for what could happen to Zelda herself.

I was wondering why there was suddenly a new dragon.. I didn’t realize that was Zelda 😭
  • I feel like a lot of people feel like this confuses the timeline, but remember. The events of the last sealing of ganon happened 10,100 years before botw. We in the real world really only have historical records of our civilizations about 5,000 years back and then everything gets a lot harder to figure out. It is fully possible hyrule fell and was founded again considering we have no clue how much time passed before the big war.

After when Ganondorf killed Sonia and corrupted her Secret Stone and uses it to become the Demon King, despite him corrupting it, there is a sliver of light inside of it. It is possible that Ganondorf imprisoned Sonia’s spirit inside the Secret Stone so that she can be used as an additional power source. Which meant Sonia was imprisoned for eons just like Rauru and Zelda. And thrn when Link defeated the Demon Dragon and destroyed the sacred stone, that is why Sonia was able to appear to help Zelda to transform back into her Hylian form.

21:08 is the moment Rauru realized he was 100% Zelda’s dad now
  • 49:26 the music in this scene is so amazing. The way it starts as Zelda’s lullaby and evolves into a more epic iteration is just so phenomenal. It also fits the whole scene and Zelda’s feelings so well
  • @GuardsmanBass
21:00 sequence is funny because Rauru and Sonia are both acting like parents amused and trying to figure out details about their daughter's boyfriend.

Seeing zelda sacrifice herself for the master sword and link by turning into a dragon made me cry i just started the game yesterday and this really touched my heart i never cried over a video game moment…
  • @auzza5394
Zelda about Link: His heart is good and true. Meanwhile back in her era I'm tortuing koroks in the most sadistic methods one can think of.
  • @Rhyciz
Never thought I would be this depressed over a Zelda game! But damn that final cutscene really hit me in the feels 😢
  • @OxidizedNail
Oh my lord the dragon scene almost makes me cry! Zelda sacrifices her mind in order to save Hyrule. She knows she can never truly be with Link or part of her old life but she still chooses the Master Sword over her own happiness. The saddest part is that now she has been a silent observer for Hyrule for thousands of years, yet she’s locked away from the world.

Bro Ganon punched a woman's back in two and then smiled like a straight demon. Fucking hell.
