If Alvarez was British these guys would be screaming that this is a massive bargain and he should be £150M ..Even bang average players like Grealish is £100M how much more Alvarez with a better talent
  • @BC-mj7gj
If Rice and Grealish are worth their transfer fees, then this is a bargain for Atletico Madrid
  • If Alvarez was English he'd worth 150 million... Now these pundit's are downplaying him😂... Wherever he goes Alvarez will score a lot of goals he is a top top player...
  • i think Atl Madrid is gonna shock this season. ssimeone is a genious

You people are all missing the key point here. Alvarez's priority is Argentina. And he knows that in order to keep his place in the Argentina squad, he needs continuity. He is not the kind of player to remain in his comfort zone and be content to win trophies he hasn't really been a part of. As Mario says, he's a very versatile player, but that doesn't mean that he can play a different role every week, and then be given a vote of no confidence when the big games come up, like Pep did. That will kill any player's motivation. As for his role at Atlético, he can very well play as a double striker with Sorloth, who is strictly a box striker. Alvarez can play anywhere up front and even fall back and engage with the midfielders if necessary. This makes it very hard for defenders to peg, because you never know where he's going to show up. I wonder if it ever dawned on Robson that his versatility is precisely his main talent. There are a lot of one-trick ponies out there, Haaland among them, and you need one or two of those in any team. But versatility adds a lot of value, especially when you're playing in several simultaneous competitions. In a team like Atlético under Simeone, known for playing defensively and on counterattack, Alvarez could very well prove to be lethal with space, given his speed, quick and smart decision-making, and skill with the ball. Just take a look at his solo counterattack goal against Croatia at the WC. There was no stopping him. He may not be Messi, but he played and trained with him, and he's smart enough to learn from the greatest. And last but not least, as an extra bonus, he'll be playing with 4 of his teammates from the Argentina squad, whom he knows very well.

Atletico to win LaLiga. Reminds me of when they got Villa in 2013 and Suarez in 2020
  • @papasmamas1
Just picture this: Alvarez instead being at a rich club that wins trophies constantly and is one of the favorites to win Champions League, decides to go to a club that barely wins anything and is never a favorite for the Champions, just and only because he wanted to play more. How many playes do that move?

LFC fan here, I don’t understand why these guys always happy to repeat that Foden is the best player in PL but du ting that Alvarez can be a star & difference maker to Atl Madrid! Even as a winger. He can put his mark on the league and develop even more under Simone
  • @Rain188
Every European top club needs a marky signing to excite the fans!
  • @Nico6801
Simeone always play with 2 striker
  • @EldarGezalov
Rob is clueless. Alvarez is top, especially when it comes to finishing. AND, he played A LOT last year. He didn't play in his preferred position at no. 9, so that's probably why he wants to go (because he understands that Haaland is still better than him at no. 9), but saying all that bs about him not playing big role in the team is complete nonsense. He was one of the best players of the whole CL group stage, and then he was second best player only behind Messi for ARG at the World Cup.
  • @423vol4
Think it’s pretty clear.. Griezmann is on his way to LAFC, Alvarez is the replacement. Just like how Sørloth is the Morata replacement
  • @glinkaz
Mbappe and Alvarez in la liga will be awesome believe
  • ESPN sorry to tell you but man united has a sugar dady called EPL😂
  • @Mr_Sasquash
I'm really disappointed with Mario's opinion because I was expecting the other two to be unaware of Simeone and how Atlético played last season, but not him. Atlético did a great job offensively, scoring 70 goals, creating 121 big chances (only 2 fewer than Real Madrid), and hitting the woodwork 18 times (same as Real Madrid), etc... but they were terrible defensively. It’s clear they haven’t watched a single Atlético game recently, as they’re still discussing Atlético’s style from 2-3 years ago. They also claim João Félix was ruined by Simeone, but that's not true. Joao had many opportunities but was very inconsistent—sometimes due to injuries every 3-4 games, and other times because he performed well only once every 5 games. This inconsistency was also evident at Chelsea and recently at Barcelona. Is that also Simeone's fault?
  • Literally 7 days in a row same topic, Alvarez Alvarez Alvarez
  • @bbl-magnet
Do you not realize that Griezmann can play on the wing and Alvarez can play second Striker?
  • @drunkmers4994
This bald guy talking down on Alvarez is clueless, HE IS A WORLD CLASS STRIKER.
