Q&A

Q: Will you add the meatball man????
A: Yes

Q: When will the game be released?
A: The game is planned to be finished in september, if I dont get to finish it till then, it will be at least finished at the end of 2023, because I dont plan to make this a lifetime project.

Q: Will you add any secrets and Rooms from the original?
A: Yes, the game IS basically just made out of those secret underground areas from the Original.

Q: How will you enter the Underground?
A: The little vent from the original will be closed, if u could just go to the underground u would skip the whole level, so in the full game u will need to find another way... I want to make this a platformer and not a story based metroidvania where u decide what to do first.

Q: Will you add any characters from the original, or make bosses?
A: Every single character will be inside of the game in some way. I wont make a Dring King boss fight that would be similar to something like fighting Bowser in Mario. They will be in it, but u wont directly kill them, I wont spoil much about it rn.

Q: Will you add any DLC or a Sequel?
A: No, this will be the only runmo game I will work on.

Q: Will you add an level editor?
A: No, that would simply be too much for the game, it would take another couple of months to implement it, and then I would add something like a sharing and upload system, which is way too much for me too handle.

Q: Can people make mods?
A: Yes, in the final version people can take the game and make their own mods, with characters, new areas, art or whatever yall want. But I dont want anyone selling anything or doing stuff with my game commercially

Q: Will Jumpmo be playable?
A: Yes, he wont be a seperate character but rather a skin. There will be some skins.

Q: What skins will you add?
A: I already know what skins will be in the game, I wont add too much because I need to animate every single one. If u really have a good idea for a skins I might consider it, but make sure it is actually a platformer character, I wont add peter griffing from family guy.

Q: Why is the demo tutorial so hard?
A: I didnt put that much time to playtest it and make sure its "easy" for players. I try to make a much smoother difficulty curve in the final game. Also, git gud bro.

Q: Will you add any new characters and areas to the game that werent in the original animation?
A: nope, no new orignal characters or areas that werent already seen. And the blue grayish Tutorial area from the demo wont be part of the game, its just for the demo...

Q: Can I help with art and programming??
A: No, this is a solo project.

Q: Why does the movement feel so bad, why cant I walljump after diving?
A: I am working on improving the movement. I made the movement like it is right now intentionally, I wanted it to fit the character, because he is a little slime blob like character. But people seem to find it unresponsive, so I will adjust them to make them fun to play. Also the dive wasnt meant for you to be able to walljumo, it was part of the game. But since most wanted it I am going to add it.

Q: Will you add any more movesets?? Like punching?
A: While Runmo was able to punch in the animation, I wont be adding that because I am not planning to add a combat system, this is a platformer mainly. Also no orignal movesets, only slight variations of the ones that were seen in the animation, like running, walljumping and diving.

Q: Does Gooseworx know about this project? Does she help with it?
A: Gooseworx is not part of this project. She knows about it and most she said is its fine.

Q: How much will the game cost?
A: It will be free

Q: Will it be on console and mobile?
A: It will not be on consoles, u can play it with a controller on Pc tho. Mobile wont be a thing too, if I decide to keep to Web HTML build of the game, u will be able to just play it on your phone browser with a bluetooth controller.

Q: Why does the game have pixelart and not the original graphics?
A: Like I already mentioned, this is a SOLO project, and pixelart is simply the easiert artform for me to make a game, its also the quickest. If you just quickly think about it, the original animation had handdrawn characters, where every character had seperated limbs that were animation with tweening, which I would need to do inside of the game engine. Thats a ton of work for just one person, and even if I had other people it would be way much for a small indie team in the short amount of time that I want to finish this. Also the animation had 3D rendered graphics. Like cmon, u really expect me to do all this....

Probably the biggest "Fine, I'll do it myself" moment.

Goose is gonna see this eventually. I'm sure she's gonna love it.

what if we happen to try going down into the pit
  • ever since i saw the original animation i've always wanted to play a game like it, thanks for putting your time and effort into it.

I love this because it’s based on the game seen at the beginning. Instead of going straight into the chaos in the factory, it focuses on the challenging platform levels and gradually approaches what is meant for the endgame. It still has the same eerie feeling to it as the beginning of the animation though and I love that. This is truly Little Runmo the game

NO WAY, me and my old friends loved the animation, and I'm SO SO SO happy you're making this. This brings back memories.

Yo, what? This looks awesome! This actually looks like a very fun and worthwhile play, even beyond the initial novelty of it being a playable Little Runmo. I'll play the demo and wait with anticipation for the final thing!
  • Despite what some people are saying about the pixel art, it always worked for video games and it does look nice here. Wish we had more games that uses pixels.

When this releases full version, it should have the whole factory bit as a sort of branch from the main story and completing that part of it would reward you with something. How I think it’ll work: 1. You must have no extra lives left 2. Once you reach the switchy spikes, go down the “bottomless” pit. 3. A cutscene will play, this is the entrance to the factory. 4. Each lil’ segment will reward you with something. (Eg: Complete the meatball man. Reward: Meaty Runmo skin or even a lil’ meatball pet to follow you. 5. Complete every segment in order in the video first and you would’ve beaten the wheel of fundus. You need to get the death one to progress. 6. After a cutscene with death (and the snacks he eats), you arrive at the dump. 7. Find a coffin looking thing and a crowbar to open it in the dump. 8. Open the coffin. 9. A cutscene will play with you collecting Jumpmo’s head. 10. You know the ending to the video 11. Now you play as the big weird tentacle guy (I forgor the name) 12. Either complete the game as this guy (Reward: Galactic Runmo skin) or kill him early. 13. If you kill him, you’ll need to escape through a broken world as Runmo under a time limit. 14. After completing it, you’ll come back to the base game. 15. Complete the usual intended route of the game. 16. At the end, the world is broken instead of the usual ending. 17. You die. 18. The story ends. (Reward: Jumpmo skin)
  • This is everything I could have ever wanted from that animation.
  • @thilsiktonix
OH MY GOD!!!!! I'm so happy to see this, I've been hoping for a real playable version to be released for YEARS! This looks incredible already. Best of luck to all those working on it!
  • @MinoriGaming
Pickit as a checkpoint is so clever I love it.
  • @JunkyToons
No offence, but I think the sprites are a bit choppy + I think the game would look a bit better if the sprites were a bit bigger, no hate the demo looks great just throwing my opinion out there.
  • I wanted something like this ever since the animation came out. Looks amazing so far!
