HELLO FRIENDS!! As you guys may know, I'm always down to try some new beauty tech - so when I stumbled upon two robot beauty treatments in San Francisco (and Oakland) - LUUM robot lash extensions & Clockwork robot manicures - I knew we had to go and try them out!!
So we decided to take a trip to Silicon Valley a few months ago to try these two machines!! And though they were kind of scary-looking... I quickly warmed up to them and ended up getting some pretty good results, if I do say so myself đ What do you guys think of my eyelash extensions & nails? Would you try a robot beauty treatment??

for ten dollars i think the nail polish is the perfect airport gimmick. i would totally get my nails painted by a robot if my flight was delayed.

Absolutely love how the lash machine creators took one look at Final Destination and went 'uhhh... yeah. Magnets.' Pretty damn ingenius.

I honestly really appreciate that the people making these machines recognize how they could impact artists, and seem to emphasize working with them or complimenting their services instead of full-on replacing them. It's refreshing to see. It feels like most tech companies don't pay much attention to the existing communities their products could be impacting.

honestly the idea to put the clockwork machines in an airport I think is genuis because if I had the option to get a silly little robot manicure while waiting around that would be very fun

I like the emphasis on being a tool for beauty technicians to use rather than as a replacement for humans.

Iâm sure Saf has always done this but I have so much respect for her putting sources for EVERY single clip she ever uses. Even clips that theyâve taken, theyâll still say where they were. I know that takes a fuck ton of time but Iâm really glad she does because itâs important!

the nail polish robot seems like such a missed opportunity for it to be gel polish was the curing light inside the robot, it would last so much longer
