My story with this song is quite weird.. This was the first time as a 7 year old hearing any kind of drums and let alone SOLOING and FILLING - I was hooked like a magic spell and had no idea what I was listening to or how those machines I thought were making those sounds, but it was sooo drawn to the drums that I kept drumming on the side of my bed trying to copy them and it felt so good when I drum along with them. I then found a better part of my bed which was in the middle away from the edges, it was more hollow and the bass sound was much cleaner, then kept drummin all night laying on my bed sideways drumming on it, until my brother would beat me up and my dad would come in and shout at me. I would stop for like 10 minutes and hope everybody is over it then go back to drummin then my mom would come in and rele shout at me tellin me everybody ur making too much sound. So then i would play on one ear phone this ending drum part and then put my other ear flush on the table surface, and when my ears are vaccuum sealed on the wooden table you could hear very very clearly every single touch of your fingers on the surface, the bass was perfect the snare and middle and high ends were so crisp and the best part is I DIDNT NEED TO DRUM LOUD to hear it, coz it was right in my ear. I perfected that solo so well then I started soloing my own patterns on the down beats. I am now an accountant with a lost dream but atleast I pay my bills.. and whenever I have any spare time I still to this day at my office stick my ears to the table and perform this entire ending and feel as if I am in the centre of a huge drum circle somewhere in Brazil with Michael Jackson dancing to the side..For those 4 minutes the world stops and I am a drummer

Back then I bought all the versions of this song but no Brazilian Drum Break to find. I really love this version. In Belgium we saw this version more than the prison one. Still want the mp3.

Pelourinho (Salvador de Bahía) was the site of a popular Michael Jackson music video in 1996. Under Portuguese colonial rule beginning in the 1500s. Home of the first slave market on the continent, Pelourinho, meaning pillory, was named for the heinous whipping post in the central plaza where African slaves, brought in to work on sugar plantations, received public punishments. Slavery was outlawed in 1835,

  • I think it was, at least I knew there was something like this but I only saw this once or twice. Back in the day MJ clips had a real premiere, broadcasting the really long versions of clips.

Can ANYBODY imagine if MJ had gone to Baltimore or Ferguson during the time all that shit was going on. With no concern for the police, just people and music marching thru the streets in empowerment. If this has happened during that time, I believe things would have been a lot different. I miss MJ, he was my fuckin HERO when I was younger. May he always rest in peace. Love you Michael. <3
