  • Your "before" 5 years ago is where I aspire to be 5 years from now.
  • I'm really inspired by this! I recently got a diagnosis of stage 4 leukaemia, just a week after I started watching your videos. I swore that at 86, I am not too old to also follow the Shuffle Journey. I got some new shoes and one of those adorable caps you sometimes wear. and I was starting out. My granddaughter, who introduced me to your videos said, "grammy, be careful, you will fall!" but I said, "Emylee's Shuffle Journey has inspired me". Well, what do you know, the first day I was trying some double-time moves following you, I fell because stupid cat ran through, and I fell! My darling grandaughter found me the next day in the garage (because you sometimes like to dance in the garage!) and took me to hospital but I said, "no, don't worry, everyone can fall when the follow Emylee's Shuffle Journey, it is normal". But she took me and all is good because the did tests to find out if it was just broken hip, and this is how they know the cancer. Now I am so mad! Doctor and granddaughter both stop me to dance on my Shuffle Journey, but I must improve because I do not have so long to spend 5 years to improve like you. You are my inspiration!!β€πŸ™πŸ”₯πŸ•Ί

I'm 70 and had to relearn how to walk again last year after 5 strokes. My doctor said I'm okay now to do more exercise, but gym classes are boring. I want to try your tutorials to rebuild my strength & coordination!

After watching you i feel that after that 2 years mark it started to feel easier and more natural for you, like you really integrated the vocabulary, made it yours and expressed it in a more fluid way.
  • That level in 1 year! From socks on vinyl to rubberized sneakers on cement and still seamless is a good indicator that you've progressed.
  • @JennyKlindt
Awesome! You went from knowing the steps to DANCING. You're arms, flow, confidence and musicality shines through. Great work!
  • @djGreenALERT
Yes you got a lot better in those 5 years, but I gotta be honest, you were pretty good even then!
  • Night and day difference in the early videos where you're focused on steps and timing vs the last clip where you're doing it effortlessly and vibing the track. Awesome!

Happy 5 year anniversary for your shuffle journey. Thank you for sharing with all of us 😊 watching your shuffle recaps helps me zone in on my own shuffle journey and gets me excited again!!

I'm 59, have been wanting to learn to shuffle. I just came across your post and going to go for it with your videos. Thank you so much for your learning videos. Will show you progress. 😊

I've never seen shuffle dancing that was so tightly coordinated with the music, until I saw your shuffle moves. Very well done, indeed.

Epic! I kept thinking "Surely she can't improve on this?" and every time you got better! You must be so proud of yourself and I bet that you love doing it, too. I don't think I could stop, if I started.
  • Outstanding! I love the one '2 years' - you can really "anti-grav"! - I love that. I'm 59 now, we used to do it in the eighties. Thanks for bringing back the memories. Peace!

We can all see that those extra fitness workouts while dancing made a difference, it was worth it just for this reason. And then your dance moves, they became very confident and fluent, huge improvement over time. Keep doing it!

Amazing video. After five years of work, you finally made everything look easy and a natural flow. The first videos were clearly you trying to work on specific moves and, over time, increasing the difficulty. But the early years all had the stiffness of a person trying to learn the moves. The last year was someone in their comforth zone, relaxing into doing the moves. At times, you were so smooth and relaxed, you might have been thinking about your ToDo list. It was amazing.

It's amazing to see how much you've grown in dance over the past 5 years, and at the same time, you have a really good taste in music.
  • That was amazing. I am going to share this with my kids to show them that the path to mastery comes with consistent effort.
  • Congrats on your 5 year shuffle-versary Emylee! It makes me really happy to see your following grow. You are the one who got me into shuffling so I'm hoping to have sick moves like you one day :)
