Man never realized just how good America is

When this song was charting, I met a little seventy-three pound blond with brilliant blue eyes. It was the summer of 1975, and she needed a lift home. I was captivated by her, and 48 years I still am.

I spent my teenage years in the 70’s and feel blessed to have grown up with the best music ever !
-
Age 63 in less than two weeks and this song brings me to my coming of age in the 1970s.
-
America is definitely a sound from the 70s that should be preserved and passed down through the ages.

Still listening 2024

I love songs like this.... I can't quite put a finger on it, but they have a feeling of nostalgia, sadness, optimism, and serenity all bundled into one song.
-
Gerry Beckley on lead vocals is pure bliss. 🔥

Cherish your youth

I grew up in the 70s, best music ever!

I remember hearing this song when it first came out, I was only seven, on the drive to visit my uncle in prison. My mom at the wheel, her beautiful brown hair blowing in the wind, all of the windows down, singing our lungs out. 30 years ago she took her last breath. I love this song and the memory it brings back.

The 70's was God's gift to music lovers. Been there and wish he would take me back. .

In my opinion, the music of the 70's, was the greatest music ever.
-
...hard to imagine anyone not liking this tune.....

Man I come to utube and listen to all of these tunes from the 70s and 80s when I was going up and it brings tears to my eyes remembering those days and the music from that time. How our country has changed for the worse and today's music has no soul; what happened to America?
-
Love the opening of this song.
-
This song got a lot of airplay on the radio not only back in 1975 but in subsequent years and even subsequent decades. This song is America's platinum masterpiece.
-
would it be a stretch to say this may be one of the greatest songs of my life?

Ah 1975! What a great summer for a young teenager and my first love, Rita. Wonder where she is now? But whenever I listen to this song, I'm back on the beach with her in 1975.
